Psych, you said their effort was poor throughout the match thread.

It was. especially in the first half. What's your point?

I can't read too much into the game as it really was poor standard with little defensive pressure especially in the first half. Ball use was poor.

Positives were Kruezer, Cripps & Buckley and seeing players give an effort. Prefer that to a Yarran or Henderson jogging around. Everitt needs a kick in the arse as he really picks and chooses when to go.

I thought it was a great chance for Jaksch, Menzel, Whiley & Dick to step up and show something against a weak opposition and they were mostly disappointing. Dick & Tutt aren't anywhere near AFL standard. Boekhurst looks good but needs to get fit.

On a side note Jeremy Howe was doing his best Henderson impression out there. Looks like he is leaving the Demons based on that effort.

You are hilarious...... You can't take too much from that game because it was against a crap side....

Check the ladder some day

Where did I say "because it was against a crap side"?

Didn't need to

So you're now quoting me on comments I didn't make?

Let the bias go and read the statement again. You will see I said the game was of a poor standard. Unfortunately that doesn't suit your argument

Your expectation of this game was????!

We were crisp in the first half and the stats back that up.

Don't worry about Psych.

His idea of adding to a discussion is pointing out the blindingly obvious as if he was the only person who could have noticed it.

I thought Jaksch did quite well. Whiley and Dick are battlers and their output was about what you would expect.

Melbourne's effort in the first half in particular was poor. Psych didn't say it, but yes they are a crap side.

The fact we've been worse this year doesn't take away from that fact.

Should we be excited we had a win? Yes.

Should we take much away from beating Melbourne? No.

So what your saying Cimm is that i can't comment on the game and have my own opinion whether it is deemed right or wrong.

and yet my blindingly obvious is considered wrong. Amazing.

That within the context of the match, one begets the other, and that over the course of the season we have also been more consistently poor than Melbourne, so the idea that us beating Melbourne under all of these circumstances and more does offer some significant insight into the performance of the players today. They were good, and some of the names you mentioned as poor showed more than they've shown in their whole careers.

Melbourne on the whole have been one of the better performing sides outside of the 8, but they are a young team. We were about as young a team today too. So it's all fairly even in that regard and thus your point is ultimately obtuse.

I don't even know why I have to explain this to you...

Well at least you admit your comments are biased. Mine are no different to what others write. As for you I won't make an assessment on someone I've never met but if it makes you feel better to criticse me good luck to you.

I posted similar in a recent game. Went on to make me look like an idiot.

More than happy for him to make a fool of me :smoking:

Curious trivia bit: when was the last time an AFL game was coached by two ex-Fitzroy footballers (Roos and Barker)?

Won't happen again.

:yikes: What has any of that got to do with me saying today's game was crap and Melbourne's effort was poor?

Menzel was awful today. Little or no pace, no tank, little creativity.

Not sure how the club has allowed him to slip that far behind

I thought it was his best game for a while. Which probably shows how far back he's gone.

Gave genuine effort and if he's fit I'm a Zulu.
