Freo have been pretty terrible the past month or so, they struggle to score like we do.

This could be a 60-30 scoreline

That's being generous - I was thinking that either side would be lucky to get over 2 goals each.

Freo have a lot of talented, soft, front runners. If a side is good enough to put 'em under pressure as Hawthorn did, well we saw the result. We won't beat them, especially over there on the big ground, but if we play hard, aggressive footy we might give them a scare. Their forwards are terrible apart from old Pav. Hawthorn just roved to Sandilands who is a liability with the ball in his hands. Clarke, Pearce and Hill are very talented but soft, Barlow is a ball magnet but ordinary disposal, Fyfe will be pretty sore. Yep, for a half we just might put the wind up 'em, although talent will eventually tell.

Yes who would want Michael Walters in their team?

Yeah - I wish we were soft front runners who were sitting four points clear on top of the ladder.

Yeah, forgot about Walters, 27 goals so far from a small forward is more than good, although it was easy to forget about him watching yesterdays match.

Maybe I'll be proved wrong in September but I don't rate Freo, typical Lyon team, lack scoring power. Haven't exceeded 100 points since rd 8, average since then 66 points per game.

I haven't an axe to grind regarding Freo, of the teams currently in the eight the only team I'd rather see take the flag is the Bullies. But I just feel Freo have a lot of players who are of the type who tend to come up short in the heat of finals.

Doc and Byrne for Armfield and Gibbs. Rowe for Jamo or Fields if he's fit.

Is he standing in the way of us developing another tall forward?

Jamison had scans and was given the all clear so it's down to concussion testing now. Here's hoping he comes up.

Not a chance Byrne is ready to go; game in the wet with one-way traffic in his direction for the final three quarters. Worked admirably and showed wheels but at least give him a week.

Out: Wood, Fields, Armfield, Tutt, Gibbs
In: Rowe, Docherty, Boekhorst, Dick, Walker

FB: Tuohy Jamison White
HB: Docherty Henderson Buckley
C: Yarran Carrazzo Holman
HF: Bell Rowe Boekhorst
FF: Everitt Casboult Menzel

RR: Kreuzer Cripps Murphy

Int: Walker Curnow Dick
Sub: Simpson (rest)

EMG: Jaksch Byrne Johnson

Why'd we bother playing Fields last week?

We wanted to give him a taste to show him we give a shit after all the media attention?

He did OK but Rowe is raring to go and we'd be playing 4 talls in defence and 3 or 4 talls up forward if Wood and Fields stay in. Would you play him ahead of White?

If Jamison doesn't play he obviously stays, it's just that Jaksch provides more flexibility as an emergency.

Fair enough. I just don't like the practice of bringing blokes in for one game. Unless they're not in future plans i.e. David Ellard.

Fields gets two weeks. He was okay last week set a huge task when jammo went down. KJ looked quite good in the 2s. Surely it is time for him to get a game. Yarran to the middle, tell him to get the ball 30 times.

We need to "out ross lyon" them. Play an 18 man defence. If we get the ball near the middle give it to fields and tell him to unleash the torp, a few 80 metre goals will get Ross thinking. Ditto Levi, he can kick it 70 and is as likely to kick a goal from a mile out as from the ten yard sq. I'd love us to be as ugly and defensive as possible and win the game 5 80 metre goals to 2.17.

Fields is a tall?

192 and 93, slower than White in foot race... who do you play him on?

Where do you then play White? Do you not select Rowe? Do you leave Henderson forward?
