Potentially in for GC are Ablett, D Swallow, H Bennell, R Thompson and May.

Murphy & Buckley went off with injury in the last quarter vs Port, so those are two to monitor during the week.

And I'll be very interested to see what Barker does with Walker this week. There would have to be chance he could be running out for the early game vs Frankston.

So who comes in for Gibbs?

- Boekhurst?
- Holman?
- Whiley?

All played well in the VFL.

I'd bring in Holman and tell him to play his natural game. Let Boekhorst and Whiley get a couple of good games under their belts.

Tough call, great that we have 3 kids who have performed well lately to come into the team.

Might be lacking a touch in balance, but I reckon this could be our best 22.

Surely time for BB to strutt his stuff, and what is going on with KJ, we are short a tall defender. He has been on a senior list for three years, surely we should be expecting him to be in line for the seniors.

This is a game that we are now expected to win.
Pencil in a loss.

i live in england - bring it on!!!

tank!!! :fight:

but seriously, i know one swallow doesnt make a summer, but look at all of the positivity on the site over the last couple of days due to this win.

play to win, not to lose and things will turn themselves around. there is talent on this list that will come to the fore now that malthouse is not trying to smother it with his ego. even if we lose, as long as play with intent there is hope. play to lose and we might as well shut the club down because none of us will care[/quote]
Oh! Bender! How dare you misquote the quote!

"One swallow a summer maketh not."

Get it right, mate.

Apparently Whiley was BOG.
Bring him in but not as a stopper. Apparently he is a hard nut and that's what we need in the midfield.
Murphy was nursing his knee. He may not come up although it didn't look too serious.

I'm looking at the backline if Jamo comes back. I'm actually hoping he plays another game in the twos because I thought our backline did OK last weekend. White seems to be inn the gun but he played pretty well and it would be bad luck to get dropped.
Can we afford to play Yarran downfield for Gibbs (who starts on the wing and plays outside mid at the centre stoppages) and slot White or Touhy into that HB role and Jamo just goes in to FB

B. Touhy/White Jamo Buckley
HB. Touhy/White Rowe Docherty

I know White is a bit out of fashion here on TC but I think he goes OK and is versatile.

I'd be more than happy for Jamo to do full game in the magoos - after playing for 60% on the weekend.

If he is right to go I would prefer to drop Walker rather than White who I reckon has been in much better form.

I would like Whiley in for Gibbs with the expectation he would be allowed to play his natural game - unlike under MM - but having only followed the NBs via TalkingNorthern I would not argue with a BB or Holman coming in.

We've won a whopping 1 more game than GC (by 4 points against a struggling Port at the MCG). GC narrowly lost to the ladder leaders in their last game and have the best player in the competition back this week. They are coming off a week's rest, we are coming off a bruising game. It's very hard for kids to back up week to week. Inconsistency invariably comes with young players. Gibbs is out and Murphy must be under a cloud.

I'm not sure why everyone expects us to win. I expect it to be very close.

So long as the players aren't expecting an automatic win, I'll be happy ABNS ;)

Not sure why some people are thinking little Gazza is going to stroll onto Etihad and get BOG straight up, when he hasn't played at any level for near on 3 months

He doesn't need to be BOG to have an impact. We shouldn't fear him, but we need to respect him. GC are a better team with him in it, there's no doubt about it.
