2 pages of posts - I think it says more about us having to play a bunch of drug induced players that have been given tacit approval from the AFL to hide all manner of their PEDs taking than where we are on the ladder.

Does not change anything - we are going to get smacked this game - Port Adelaide Mk 2 but worse as we hate the red and black. Realistically our cupboard is bare and I will be relieved when it is all over on Saturday.

Yep, unless we get Thomas back and at least Yazz can come up (Murphy no way you'd think), we're heading for a day of misery.

In the circumstances, I reckon they'll rush Buckley back as a sub and bring in Cripps too. Bombers have some clearance monsters, Cripps should be given his chance for this one.

Holman, Johnson and Murph look the outs at this stage. Garlett in too if Yazz doesn't come up.

Just hoping we can keep it respectable and hurt plenty of them coming into the finals.

No point dropping Holman or Johnson unless they're injured. Especially if you're going to bring in players (i.e. Jeffy) who are no chance to be around next year. Get games into players that are a part of the future.

This could get ugly. Very ugly. It looks and sounds like our players are cooked for 2014.

It can only get worse if Murphy & Yarran are out.

If Everitt & Buckley are fit, we should play them. I know in the scheme of things this match is insignificant, but if they are over their injuries and there's a game of AFL footy to be played- why not put them out there? Every minute Buckley gets is money in the bank. Everitt is a well paid professional footballer. If there's little or no risk of them aggravating existing injuries, let's play them. Buckley might need to be sub, purely because he's missed so much footy.

Carlton by 5? You're on drugs, Howard Kotton.

I agree with thrust of your post, we're going to have to punt on one or two that are underdone as they will still give us more than a Holman or Johnson, if just to avoid another pounding from this flower.

They've been a total pack of C¥%#S for the best part of 35 years, and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to cause them maximum pain, say Round 22 2001, Darren Milburn style.

I think the hatred I had for Richmond started slowly morphing to Essendon* from around 1981.

mine started a few years earlier when I went to Windy Hill for the first time

I was on the wing - maybe 17 years old or so - packed house - and in a nest of Bombers scum.

I could smell something burning - I turned around and there is an Essendon* fan trying to set fire to my Carlton scarf with his cigarette lighter.

Dermie knows how to handle the windy hole c%$#* and now the Tullamarine Turds

We lost Bradley just before that game and for the finals. He was in career best form and our prime mover that year more than any other, I believe.

I think losing him had a huge impact on our structure - we hadn't yet quite found the missing pieces of the puzzle a la '95.

Having said all that, it was pretty bloody annoying losing that one after throwing away (bad kicking) and being robbed of (umpiring - FFS, WTF does Sticks have to do to be awarded a mark? etc) the previous close encounter at Waverley.

Let's remember 2001 instead ('99 seems a bit too intense for the two combatants turning up this Saturday).

We need some Lappinesque tricks...badly.

The two wins in 2001 are my greatest memories as a Carlton supporter (outside of grand finals and possibly the first night final ever aginst the cheats in 93). The first game we had so many injuries (Bradley, Kouta and Silvagni all late withdrawals) and weren't rated any chance to win, so much so that I had to attend the game by myself because no-one in our usual group could be bothered going "to watch a certain loss".

Yazz a certainty to play according to Macca.
