Had to kill minutes due to lack of rotations. Decent enough plan to get out of the trouble we were in.

The free was there. Game impossible to umpire. The only free that killed me was that Murphy HTB.

We need a better player in Casboults position.

Casboult's ideal as a 3rd forward and 2nd ruck, perfect role for him, but hasn't stepped up to key forward in his own right yet as we can see.

Ideally, if we lose Waite then use the money to get Frawley.

Ideally, we want someone who has 10 years ahead of them.

No more short cuts.

Was at the game.

Injuries killed us - absolutely no doubt we would have won by at least a few goals with anything resembling a bench. It's that simple. Geelong are so jammy it's ridiculous.

Signs are good for the future; we aren't a million miles off.

Gee I hate these hooped pricks. We all knew how it would end but we couldn't help watching.

Great effort with a limited bench in the end. Augurs well for next year. How many close ones have we lost now?

Now THAT was a game of footy!

Sure we lost, but how entertaining was that effort? right down to the wire.

The thing that has me worried is, how much more of these near wins / close defeats can these blokes handle before they've completely given up? Tonight was grueling to say the least, add the lack of rotations due to injuries, and we come up just short yet again. This injury business has got me really worried. We've had nothing but bad fkn luck for how long now with injuries?
There's no denying we were there to win tonight, the self belief of this group after SO many near wins, is to be commended. Developing a winning culture is proving to be a very difficult task. But it shows we are just short of the mark, and if by some miracle we can get a good run with form and lack of injures, I think we'd certainly give the eight a shake up with our current list.

Good game, took it up to Geelong all night and nearly won.

If the umpires played all similar incidental contact there would be more than 100 free kicks per game, what a load of bullshit.

Get on Joel Selwood for the Brownlow. Obviously the umpires have!

One of the worst decisions of the year.

It's was one really disgraceful decision. How does this happen twice against the same side?

Thought Rowe was excellent down back. Solid game, and unlike the start of the year is playing within his limitations when he has the ball.

Also credit to Carrazzo who turned around a horrible first quarter, to be one of our most important players. His work in close was brilliant tonight.

A few errors from Doc tonight, but overall was good. Also glad to see Bell back up from last week. Considering the opposition it was probably a more important game than last week. Menzel dangerous before injury.

Could be the last we see of Ellard, and Armfield offered nothing when he came on. Graham didn't make the most of a full game, and Casboult seemed to be in the play a lot but only had the 6 touches.

Rotations and a touch of class did us in the end.

I couldnt believe what we did during that last minute when we got possession in the back pocket and were 6 points down.

...it was like we were tanking the last minute. Milking the clock

Can live with the soft free costing us the game because we know that when one team is putting on all the pressure, the umpires subconsciously look to reward them.

What I can't accept is the constant reward for ducking and diving, leading to two of players picking up serious lower leg injuries (and one of them luidcrously being penalised for it). The umpires are failing in their duty to protect the players.

I thought the same. Was the score board at the ground showing us in front?

I think they were too exhausted to get to where they needed to be.

Because it's Geelong. Simple.

We have to learn to lift our arms to draw the high free. They do it, we need to follow. It wins games of footy.

If my other 8 tips come off I'm suing the umpire for his annual salary.

My brother not happy after putting $10 on the draw @ $510.

Rnd12 Scott press conference said in tight games it's good umpires let the game go and play on at 50/50 contests cos Menzel was robbed,

Rnd21 Scott press conference, happy for umpires to call delayed free from umpire 50m away if he thinks he can see it better than officiating umpire 10m away.

So the umpires is only good when it falls Geelongs way

Three times as he went for a mark Taylor nudged him in the back - i could see it from the opposite wing, why can't the umpire?
