Top of the table on 11 straight wins versus 13th with one win from 6, result will go accordingly. A good 'honest but outclassed' four quarter effort will satisfy me. Good inroads made by some seriously underperforming players this week, as long as that continues I'm happy.

Maybe we'll get revenge for 1995.

A client of mine has a Vietnamese wife. Was in a dispute with his local council, so to be a smart arse he wrote to them in Vietnamese. They refused to acknowledge his letter and wrote back demanding he communicate in English. WTF?

If we get a fair crack at it in the midfield and go long to the hotspot, we are in with a show. The SCG is small and CHF is not needed. I'd put Levi and Hendi on opposite sides of the goal taking it in turns to open up the opposition. Their mids are apparently a bit down from previous seasons so we might get a look in. I like the idea of Walker on Buddy. Always have. Can fly for marks, is quick across the ground and has a much biggr tank if he gets the footy and runs later in the game. As usual and unfortunately, Gibbs will get the indigenous games record holder. That robs us of one good mid we should be using for stoppages. Bell will play time in the mids splitting the packs. Yarran will get Jetta I suppose and Zac will get someone far too tall for him as usual. Everett will get some attention I suppose but he has been playing well and may actually thrive on it. My head wants us to lose everything for the rest of the year but my heart wants a useless, meaningless, futile, draft-position damaging win.

Same here, especially as we're going appx 900kms to see it..

Reverse omen - bottom 2 Swans beat us in Sydney in 1995 in a year we won 23 out of 25 - by about 12 goals IIRC. Time to reverse the tables.

Walker or Everitt for Buddy, hopefully the latter whilst he's in good nick. Rowe for Kurt, Jamo for Goodes.

They beat us in 1994 as well - when we were 2nd top of the ladder at the time and I think they might have been last.
Unfortunately I was at both games.

I know we're saying Carrazzo & Menzel will be "in the mix" for selection this week, but I'd be very surprised if they played with the short week.

Garlett for Menzel is a no brainer for me, as long as Garlett has met his KPI stats at training and in the VFL since he's been out of the team.

Who replaces Carrazzo? I guess it's a choice between Armfield, Cachia, Cripps, Ellard, Graham, Holman, Lucas & Sheehan....

Armfield - gives us pace and can do a run-with job if required. Seems out of favour though.
Cachia - is on VFL report.
Cripps - probably needs at least another VFL game or two under his belt.
Ellard - MM is said to be a fan, but has missed a fair bit of footy too. Only play from now if the club intends to keep him beyond 2014.
Graham - hard to see him & Brock in the same side. His time will come.
Holman - has a go, but is he ready for the AFL? Playing him now might not be in his or the team's best interests. Then again, he was an emergency last week, so must be in the selectors' minds.
Lucas - I might be in the minority, but I'd like to see him get another chance. We are just so desperate for run and we'd get sod all in a trade, so it's delist or keep at season's end. Give him one last chance to prove he wants to be at the club next year. There's a spot for him if he wants it badly enough.
Sheehan- I'm not sure if he's is eligible (did Giles go onto the LTI?).

The other possibility is we go taller and bring in Waite?

Don't know about him but I'll be pissed if that Laidlaw has a good game.

Will it be a case of being

a) out-muscled?

b) out-skilled?

c) out-structured?

d) out-paced?

e) a combination of some or all of the above?

Whatever it will be, I think we will be outscored.

Cachia looks the obvious one, many weeks of good VFL form and we need some physicality against this lot. Hope he beats that VFL report. :banghead:

Unless it's going to chuck it with rain, I would expect them to bring back Tippett and stretch our back line....
Rowe - Tippett
Jamo - Buddy
Walker - Goodes
Everitt - Reid

Might need to move White back if we want to free up Everitt for a different role.

In which case, I think there's a strong argument to bring in Waite.

Anyone who can run out of sight on a dark night, can hit the side of a barn with a football from 2 metres (by hand or foot) and doesn't do the "Do-si-do" every time the rake possession of the football is a chance.
