We will be pretty hard at it for the first 10 mins. Will kick the first 3 goals.
And then we will lose by 40 points at the end of the game.

WWE is less predictable in its "twists" than Carlton

Had we won on Saturday we would have gone in with some momentum ... would have been a big build up ... turned sour now.

Can't believe 2014 is already done and dusted - feels like it never even started.

This.

At half time.

Bring the Vaseline kids, this is going to hurt.

we don't deserve vaseline. it must go in rough.

I hope pineapples aren't on special at Aldis Geelong branch.

Can we place the initials RIP after Carlton's name in the pre and post match threads?

Love how blokes prefer carrazzo on one leg then graham.... How many games has graham played?? I think two, both times as sub...
Give him 6/7 games and if he shows nothing then cut him at seasons end along side carrazzo, who is clearly past it..
Anyway for me this week,
Simpson Jamison Buckley
Everitt White Tuohy
Thomas Gibbs Yarran
Walker Henderson Docherty
Garlett Waite Menzel
Warnock Murphy Bell
I/C; Armfield Graham Giles
Sub; Holman
Not a chance Holman, Giles and Graham will come in but, our season is shot so let's play the kids and learn from the best in Geelong and the Hawks...
Armfield goes to Selwood.
Graham can run with Bartel, learn how to play whilst getting touched up.
Giles either goes forward or back, probably forward.
Calls have to be made on players who aren't up to it after playing for years, carrazzo, McLean, Robinson etc...
Just my stupid opinion anyway, counts for nothing and what do I know, just ask my wife..

Usual Geelong game.

We'll lose by a ridiculously flattering 10-28 points despite never looking like winning.

Take us at the line.

the basis of a novel ... a beginning, a middle sort of and an end.

I think this is what the old greeks called a tragedy.

I think it will come down to recovery.

MM has been banging on about x amount of players who haven't had a pre-season and that showed in the performance on the weekend. No energy after a 6 day break.

Was Buckley fit?, Menzel? Waite had another dose of second game back blues after a good game last week, Carrots was probably going to come off but Ellard got injured. MM has a history of playing underdone and the unfit players, even if we had one more player (apart from Murphy) who was still running hard at the end of the game it could have been a different result.

Probably lose but I wouldn't be surprised if we win, the reality is the Cats midfield isn't deep. MM will try to clamp Selwood and make the game a scrap, just like the Adelaide game. If we are fit enough and have recovered well enough we'll be able keep it ugly for 4/4, if not it could be a blow out.

easier to do at Etihad

..kids in vfl might not be underdone but they arent fit enough to run out a strong game in senior.. ..menz is two seasons away from good afl engine, buckley cant run out a season yet either.. ..cripps will take a ruckman's length of time developing.. ..we are miles off it..

Improves our chances. Our mentally fragile players don't do expectation.

Probably right, but Bucks has been playing and he was clearly struggling on the weekend. Lucas may have offered more on a big ground against a side that doesn't man up, although I'm not sure he should ever play in the top side again. Maybe even the Bootsyman might have been a better option, it was a case of no legs for the last 15 minutes of the last quarter.

Recovery will be the key.

Agreed....
This being the case, the fact they ve had 2 more days recovery would hold the Cats in good stead.
In saying that, we have played pretty decent football at Etihad this year (3 wins out of 4, and ahead for 3 qtrs against Port).
Wouldn't put it past our schizophrenic team to pluck a win out of nowhere, and leave everyone all bamboozled and confused for another week.

If we lose by a hundred+ ... surely the blow torch gets applied to Mick, does it not?

It might, but reckon the calls will probably be 'Mack's been there and done this before. Give him an extension and let him rebuild the list'.
Cue the pot shots in the media from Mathieson if we get pummeled.
Still reckon the Club needs a full review from top to bottom, but know this probably wont happen under the Judge.
