Glad they put in the effort but I'd like to see them do it all game, every week for a few months before I'm ready to re-commit.

Prefer to win than lose but this group's burnt me that many times that I don't really trust them any more.

Exactly, when we win four in a row I'll start investing emotionally again.

If our players want to pick and choose so will I.

I thought Bell was exceptional today, kept on going all day. Probably the best game I've seen him play.

Yep, as I see it as the only way we'll wake up to what needs to be done long term. I don't want to follow a team that will be irrelevant for the next two decades. That's where we are at.

Rarely comment on best players or otherwise however I would recommend that people have a look at the last quarter in particular and focus on the desperation of Simmo and Andy Walker.

Both absolutely determined and busted a gut. These 2 guys bleed for the Club!

Which leads to the question: WTF was Walker doing acting like such a pathetic Flower in round 1?????

Not sure Heady , I have no doubt that he has high expectations re his game.It was clear that he was struggling and my experience having watched kids like Andrew is that they wear their heart on their sleeves.

I have watched him closely over the last few weeks and quite often the error rate can be attributed to trying to do to much.

Agree, MM made a bad decision to drop him against Melbourne. Has limitations but needs consistency of senior games to see if he can make it at this level.

Watched it at the local pub with no audio. Could have been a good thing. I thought that WB were lucky to get as close as they did. Very lucky mis-kicks that landed on the chest of team mates, freakish bounces, stupid free kicks or non-free kicks paid.
At the end of the day I took this out of the game:
* Bell (despite the rough edges) should be persisted with. Provides run & grunt and was important to
our win today
* If we had not dropped Waite & Garlett we would have beaten Melbourne last week
* Yarran is improving & it is about time. Very good today
* Good to see Murphy back in form - but still not back to his absolute best
* Gibbs needs to stay on the ball - good first half - average second
* Daisy Thomas in defence was a good move, but I hope that it is not permanent. Too good & too
expensive for a half back flanker
* Judd's injury came about because he had not picked up the pace of the game & thought that he had
an extra step when he didn't. Not a coaching or selection mistake. Just bad luck.
* We have lost our best tagger (Ed Curnow) for a while by the look of it - is there a replacement ?
* Couldn't understand what they were doing with Cripps. Permanent forward in his second game ?
Hope that they don't drop him now after playing him out of position

Yeah and possibly would have lost today as a result. We needed to make a stand buy dropping senior players that weren't prepared to put in 100%.

I bet at least 90% who are on this site shouldn't be preaching to me about being 'classy'.

Liked how they used Cripps.

He gets to see how the game evolves at AFL tempo

He hasn't got pace, so he needs smarts

Needs to learn where to position himself on the ground as a mid

Keep playing him at this level... he needs knowledge and experience

..good game, need hendo and Waite to stay forward and I like casboult presence and meanness.. ..thought we played with more effort, hefu''y it's not a case of effort purely because they were allowed what they want.

It is the only way to get the top shelf talent we need to get us to 17. In pagan we trust.

Three years? That's generous. I've been loving life for at least four, possibly five years, but who's keeping count? So you weren't paying much attention if it's only been the past three years that you've realised I'm the opposite to you.

Good to get on the board against a team that pantsed us last year, and to show some genuine grit for a change.

If Juddy's gone for a while, think the time to stick a fork in him can't be far away.
