But we all knew that years ago. Mick still thinks our window is opening. We are far worse than we were before he came onboard.

Yep why did he recruit Thomas....on 4 years for 700K!

He is hindering his own chance to develop the list in the long term.

By all means go after Thomas - but not on a 4 year deal and not 700K!

It makes you think he was just making sure his mate got looked after as he heads towards the end of his career.

Daisy will be fine give him 8 weeks

We got him because we need run and heart he has both

We've played off in 2 GFs since 1988, 2, 1 flag in 18 years, things have been poor for a generation, compounded by poor drafting, poor finances, poor management , this 'we're Carlton @#$%&! the rest' attitude.

We have consistently failed to grasp modern footy in all it's guises.

Contrast with Hawthorn, 60'000 bloody members 3 GFs in 6 seasons, more $ than you can poke a stick at. And they nearly went under 20 years ago.

Sticks should have gone ages ago and taken Swann with him. We are a laughing stock.

That's not the point - his contract hamstrings the clubs ability to improve the list in the long term.

Don't think it was that...pies would have looked after Thomas if he wanted to finish his career at collingwood.

Don't worry, as we Speak Swan is busy behind the scenes trying to head hunt Daicos, Monkhurst, Starcevich and McGuane for permanent board appointments....

Effes this is a club problem.
If people don't understand that.
You don't understand the basics.
You can bring any coach in at this point... It's all over red rover for the next few years.
The have changed a few years ago and we didn't evolve with it.

Everything about the club us outdated.
This is a club that's being and has been ground into the dust.
I understand people are angry as the reality sets in.
But no coach can turn this club around without the exterminators moving into the club for the fumigation at the top.

King cherry picker... :smoking:

You can the board (which I agree with) yet you reckon the same group of amateurs are onto a winner appointing MM. Strange logic.

I am sure of it...you will come around...you started off supporting Pagan (I did too).

actually im not a cherry picker
ratts had to go because he had no idea.
stcks has to go because he has no idea
the recruiters have to go because they have no idea
the development has to go because they have no idea
the Oligarchs have to go because they have no idea
The patsies on the board have to go because they have no idea.
the ceo has to go because he has no idea
the footy manager has to go because he has no idea.
Capuano has to go because he has no idea
barker has to go because he has no idea.
all coaches must go becausr they have no idea...

i always said that.. there is no cherry picking there,

malthouse wont turn rookies into a silky skilled team...
and he wont turn a group of elitist players who are spoilt into blokes who are hungry...

thats just how it is.

but u cannot tell me mm has no record ...or denis

u see its the club culture

stop wishing it was something else... were stkilda now... accept it.

oh and some dude that works for the club tried to taunt me into eaving this place and not posting as im not a healthy poster... in his opinion... im poisoning minds and the club is on the up.

he knows who he is..

and no its not a poster...

not only that but another guy that works for the club called me friday to tell me the same thing...
he said
"you wouldnt even be happy if we won the flag! "

is he for real???? :screwy: :screwy:

hate the sycophant mentality more than anything...
blokes who are around the club who feel they have to get involved because of some kind of loyalty to people at the club and not the club....

GAGF!!!!... you both know im right and youre wrong!!!

Ratten spent several years implementing a modern possession based gameplan that the players sometimes struggled with but adapted to. Many of the best teams (Geelong and Hawthorn particularly) employ it. Predictability in set up, precise use of the footy and maintaining possession at all costs.

Malthouse brought back the bomb it long to the boundary theory which means even when we get inside 50, we can't kick straight.

I don't absolve the players but we have gone backwards under Malthouse. Big time.

Don't give me apologies for Malthouse either. He got all he wanted from the administration and sold himself on the "we had a great list" bandwagon.

Feel for Ratts. History may remember him better than his club did.

The revolt must start tomorrow. Sticks cannot be allowed to stay Pres any longer. Piss Gibbs off to whoever is silly enough to pay him the $700k and take the Captaincy off Murphy. Our coaching box is like Dad's army with Mick and Wiley too.......

Clearly the 2nd worst team in the AFL. Dogs are ahead of us now

Couldn't see the game but saw that people unhappy about bringing Carrots back too early. On the age website he lead the game for clearances contested possessions and handbills. Did he play ok or was he rubbish?

This is the most interesting thing you have posted.

That's incredible.

You're exposing the amateur managers for what they are (if only you included the coach too ;) )

I disagree that Ratts was up to it; but besides that I think you've summed it very nicely (as usual)
