Will Ryan Trainor do the right and proper thing in arranging for an independent review of the entire club structure ?

Talked to Trainor about a year ago and asked him about the size of the Board the sub-committees (which are far to close to operational issues) etc. He thought the current structures worked really well.

Don't have to read between the lines to see you're not happy with the world.

So Rexy is now in charge of the CFC!

What does he do to right the wrongs, to change the direction of the Club and take us to 17?

1. Ground up review of Club operations?

There are numerous different departments, who will review each one, or will there be someone who knows everything? What will their brief be?

2. Replace Board. How many people? What skill sets? Change club rules so we members vote for the president?

3. Fix recruiting? / gut list?

4. Fix game plan / training / coaching?
Who do we get? What skills do we need?

5. Turn our soft players into tough desperate players? Drum in Carlton of Old spirit? Visit to the Wizard of Oz?

The current board is 12. It cannot go below 6. I think 7-9 is a good size, but I've seen larger boards operate well. It really depends on the individuals.

The sub-committees I don't have too much of a problem with. They've altered slightly over the last 12 months as well.

Club Member Venues sub-committee
LoGuidice
Mathieson
LoGuidice
Fried

Marketing sub-committee
Trainor
Fahour
Gleeson

Football sub-committee
Glesson
Lee
Mathieson
Clarke

Finance, Audit & Risk sub-committee
Fried
LoGuidice
Sayers

Nominations & Remuneration sub-committee
Kernahan
Lee
Sayers

CEO and his executive should still be doing the leading on most of these things. And re: Communication and Membership etc - they are. But sometimes people get stale. Richard Newton has left the board - I'd be surprised if Gleeson, Fried and Clarke were there much longer. But it's who comes onto the board that I'm interested in. I don't want the Pratts' or Mathiesons' controlling this. I've accepted the need to work within the Mathieson model - but fresh faces that aren't Oligarch appointments are required.

Dragging a half decent contribution from you is tedious but worthwhile. :)

I would love to get involved in recruiting ,if we can not for board electionsor prez voting. My idea is that for example our rec put 5 names from the draft and we talking car can vote who we want at our club. How does that sound.

Cazzesman would probably veto that suggestion ;)

We are all pretty good at hindsight recruiting too! Do you reckon we could get that through the AFL?

Apologies for skim reading your post and no I don't defend the status quo. I just get sick of the myth making on here.

Can you clear things up?
