We decided to play after half time though I saw signs of a revival late in the first half.

Rowe isn't up to it but we knew that, Brock was terrible, and we carry too many guys who have poor skills.

Robbo was better after half time and Curnow has become another Carrazzo.

Buckley could be a player, Menzel was good, daisy got better, murph fantastic and Gibbsy had to go down back without walker.
Yaz excellent too

I think we have no choice but to persist with Lucas and probably drop McLean. Cachia in for Robbo too.

With 8 minutes to go we had them. Then Richmond found a way to keep the ball in their 50 for 4 or more minutes and we panicked (not for the first time ever) we hacked the ball blindly to opposition players who just kicked it back in to pressure positions.

Warnock (goal) & Murphy & Robinson guilty there I.I.R.C.

So dominant around the ground in the second half.

Richmond out on their feet for ages.

Still couldn't capitalise.

Could have romped home in the end.

'Could have' is for losers.

Unlike some here, I reckon this loss hurts big time.

Players just don't seem to know what to do out there.

Poor players poorly coached. Many going backwards at a rapid rate.

The first half was terrible.

Good to see Buckley play well. Lots of energy.

Mick has to pick a more mobile team. The teams he sends out are too lumbery.

Get loose Mick!!!

I'm not too disappointed. I wanted heads to roll at Qtr time but they applied themselves and had a crack. Humid nights always make kicking at goal difficult. We are so undermanned for this time of year it's not funny.

I just wish Rowe would really grab the game by the balls.

We promise alot but don't deliver. We can be very exciting at times, then be useless.

As for goalkicking it's time for monetary penalties for blokes that continue to miss easy goals. Too often it costs games. Just sick of it. It's mental laziness, something that's common with many in the club.

The criticism in this thread will be brutal, so I'll get in quick with my take on the game. All in all we did okay considering Richmond got such a jump on us early. To be a kick in it in the dying minutes was a top gutsy effort by the boys. Judd returns, carrots, Kreuzer to help out around the ground, plus ruck duties, and of a bit of match fitness still to come, things ain't so terrible.
Some very ordinary efforts tonight from Gibbs in particular, and Waites and Garletts shots on goal were costly in the end. But I was really pleased with Buckley and Menzel tonight. To come back from such a drubbing is a pretty good effort. I know this team and coach are going to be ripped to shreds in this thread, but all in all what I saw in the last half was enough for me to know things will improve during the season. Top 8 material? Its not looking that way sadly. I'd like to see what MM has to say about this game, he looked like he was going out of his mind in the box. Well at least he's passionate, lets hope that rubs off on the rest of them, especially Gibbs ...

Speaking of roundball, Jeffrey Garlett needs to learn he is not Luis Suarez - he is not a genius, and you're allowed to hit the @#$%&! ball more than 8 feet off the ground. What a waste this kid has turned into...

Harsh on Garlett buy agree with everything else.

It does but my expectations are very low.

Which is why I focus on some positives.

Casboult could have done a better job than Waite

Put Fevola on as an assistant coach (goalkicking) we'd get 5000 extra members for a start and we might improve our set shots to boot.

So does Jarrad Waite, that dive (of sorts) after King kicked him in the chest was awful and would have even embarrassed that biting cheat Suarez.

Buckley was great tonight. Still a little rushed at times, but that will come with experience.

Menzel good in the last.

Bell was better tonight.

Murphy much better.

Why are we playing Rowe? He tries hard but doesn't have the quality to play at this level. We should've played Casboult and used Waite in defence if needed.

I think Brock is in decline, needs to find some form or be replaced by Graham.

Robbo is tough, strong, fearless but football dumb.

I want last year's version of Tuohy back. Looks like we've found another tagger in Everitt.......

Tuohy needs a spell in the 2's as he is a waste of space at present & I was formerly a firm fan. Have had lingering doubts for a while - tonight confirmed my doubts.

I think you may have gone a little early there.

Had a shit night for sure, but out of character IMO.

..clangers be bad, but clangers aint clangers.. ..it's amazing how some players can be so bad with their stuff ups..

..for the talk Buckley won't find it at afl level, his hunger and grunt work was enough to make up for any percieved lack of footy nous.. ..ellard and Brock, where art thou..?.. ..need two of hendo, why won't Waite work up the ground like he used to?, doesn't seem to cover the same among of ground these days.. ..I know it's early, but some players' papers are in danger of being 'stamped'..
