I know Mick is a divisive issue and I don't pretend it is all his fault. But what is our system, our structure, our game plan? What process is he teaching our players? I'm still not sure after a whole year.

Semi final tonight and we looked beyond ordinary. If the work rate is there and you can at least identify what we are trying to do it mightn't be so bad. Can't say we did any if that tonight. I expect more from our players.....and our coaches.

Interesting off season coming up.

Betts and Scotland's last games for the club? Yarran?

Things are looking up.

Stinker of a game. Terrible ground for football and its shape didn't suit us and surface really threw us.

Having said that we didn't really put in and Horse clearly outcoached Mick.

We can't play Casboult and expect to win against decent opposition. It won't happen. Even with an extra player.

Got nothing from too many players and our system when playing to one is terrible. One of the worst in the league. Tonight when we threw it out the swans were too clever to let us get away with it.

Lets hope one win against the Tigers is not enough to change the view of our list.

Way too many one dimensional players. Can do one thing and hack up anything else.
Or do one thing and are too focused on that only to do anything else.

It's blokes like Armfield, Curnow, the amigos, etc that fit this description. That holds us back heaps.

Well, I'm prepared to cut the players some slack because of the surface. If you know MM is going to rip you a new a*hole if you don't keep your feet, you'd be tentative on that skating rink as well.

Looked to me like the Swans used some local knowledge to stay away from that part of the ground affected by the temporary grandstand from yesterday.

Hahaha. You mean they used the middle of the ground where the stands hadn't been while we used the boundaries!

It will be interesting. Scotland's might be done. Yarran is a great highlights package but doesn't have slot of substance. We can get a good trade there. Betts has had a year hurt by injury and suspension but when going is a class act. A regular season kicker of around 50 goals normally. Those you keep.

Like to see what Jesse White is up to next year. Swans were happy to trade him last year but has been alot better this year sop his value would've risen. Be just the player for us, a key forward who plays ruck too. After his year Adelaide would be kicking themselves. If they had done the trade for Tippett they'd have a good player and would've saved themselves a world of hurt with the AFL.

Yarran got 23 touches. How did that happen? :sly:

Disappointing way to finish but the finals sum up our year. Just too up and down.

We simply should have done better given their injuries going into the game.

Casboult has played some excellent games but unfortunately the difference between his best and worst is a long way. Feel he'll make a decent supporting forward one day wityh more experience when he sorts that but won't ever be the main spearhead.

As I said in another post i'd push hard for Jesse White.

See them hosing the logos off the ground post game? Would have done the same last night with all the logos and rugby lines. Ridiculous.

Oh we'll, no cracks papered over tonight. We got two bonus weeks at the end of the season but were beaten by a professional outfit.

The second week of the finals continues to be ho hum.

Beaten by a better side.
Went to Visy Park to watch the game, good atmosphere early. The screen wasnt very clear and couldnt read the scores.
Surface a disgrace.

So they had to cut how many CMs off the grass last night? All the clippings acted like ice.

Been a horrible year for the AFL. Two teams in Sydney but still no ground which measures up. Surface has been an issue for years, players should boycott due to injury risk.

Here's the reality. Every year in Sydney is a horrible year for the AFL, even when Sydney wins.
Sydney, reigning premiers and favourites playing against Carlton, one of the biggest crowd drawing teams in the comp.
37,400 turn up. They had more at Geelong last week.

Sydney is a League town and always will be. The AFL has poured endless quantities of money into Sydney and it will happen with GWS. It's like a big yacht. Sydney is a big hole in the country into which the AFL throws money for no return.
In addition, they have given Sydney money to attract more players so they will play finals and keep the Sydneysiders mildly interested.
My question is this. Why wasn't this game played at the SCG? It holds about 35,000 and has a great atmosphere. Answer. The surface is too small.
So we have a great venue with a small playing surface versus a huge venue with a dodgy surface and nobody in attendance.

Pick one.
