I love Swan. He and MM and doing a great job.

Swan's definition of cheating is a team who has been found sufficiently guilty of a crime as to have been removed from the finals, coaches suspended and draft picks removed along with a $2m fine.

Not once did he say 'drug cheats'. The AFL rules are broad. They were guilty of breaking those rules ie BTGIDR so they cheated AFL rules.

Case DISMISSED!!

You would have thought the Scum would have realised that pulling the 'legal threat' angle was well past its use-by date.

They'd be better served to go quietly into that good night.

Are AFL clubs considered not for profit?
If they aren't then they legally can't sue for defamation.

If I were an Essendon* lawyer, I wouldn't be too keen on any court stuff where the truth might be outed under cross examination.
Maybe he could also subpoena Jab Watson and ask him to repeat what he said on the couch. That'd be good. The club captain testifying against his club in a defamation suit.

But more likely an apology will be forthcoming. The cheating comments can wait a while.

This is hilarious... How can they claim that their reputation has been damaged by Swan's comments... I would have thought Swan's comments were actually an improvement on what most people think about the lying cheating drug fuelled bunch of egotistical flowers!!!

How pathetic. What do they think they are going to achieve?

Suing someone doesn't change what they did and doesn't change anyone's perception of what they did. They should get on with fixing their sh*thole of a club instead of worrying about trivial stuff like Swann having a joke on the radio. Says a lot about them really.

David Evans was right to leave. They are the most delusional group of people I have ever seen in football.

Love how Barrett said that people at our club were a little bemused by Essendon*'s actions, thinking that the Scum should have bigger problems to worry about then this kind of thing.

Just go to court so we can heavy every filthy detail of what the club got up too. In court people will have to be subpoenaed and tell the truth under oath. Everything will be brought up in all it's dirty detail. Essendon* will come out looking alot worse if they want to sue. Let them do it!
