We're giving it a crack with a middle of the road list.

Enjoy the wins when they come, try to suffer the losses against the best sides, count down the days until ASADA reams Essendon*, enjoy the first week of finals when we finish ninth, and then hang on to your hats during trade and draft time.

That's 2013 from here.

Good solid win - made to work for it. The mental toughness of this team is improving, and long way to go yet.
Next week is a massive test. We need a scalp above us and it has to be Freo!!!

Good win in the end, was painful to watch before that. God our goal kicking is terrible sometimes.

Great perspective. I need reminding of this sometimes

My limited take from just getting back:

Good:
- Great game from Kreuz
- Amigos did the job
- Very good game from Curnow on Ablett
- A good team effort
- Three games, three monkeys off our back
- Metricon is a great place to watch footy, highly recommended

Bad:
- Umpiring in first half was terrible
- We kept falling for the loose man in defence, have we not learned from this yet?
- Kicking for goal an obvious issue, but moreso kicking to the wrong places. Either near boundary or on the goal line (too easy for opposition to punch through). Barker has to go!
- Contested marking, did we actually take one?
- There seemed limited influence from Murphy and Gibbs. They were probably serviceable in and under but did nothing inspiring.
- The players not acknowledging the Carlton faithful who flew up, many with young kids. Pretty poor TBH.

Agree with your comment about Metricon. Great place to watch the game, and the whole place has an excellent atmosphere. The amount of young kids at the game indicates to me that the Suns are going to be a success off the field as well as on.

A nice touch was how they have a supporter raise the club's flag just before the start of the game. They're building some traditions that bind supporters together.

I was also surprised the players didn't go to the crowd, as there was a large number of Carlton supporters there.

A great day, although it did mean not being able to check the Essendon* thread, which took the gloss off the occasion.

Enjoy the win if you want. why not? its only a game after all. Sure we could have won by a big margin, but the Suns were deplorable for much of the game.

The truth is we're an extremely ordinary team.

Curnow played a great game and a few others played well

Carrazzo, Judd, McLean and Scotland look to be on their last legs, Murphy was horrible.

This list doesn't look like it will take us anywhere. We might have one A-grader right now in Henderson.

The club need to do absolutely everything perfectly from here to become a really good team over the next few years. If you know CFC, you know that's highly unlikely.

I got the feeling today that the players really know the game plan now, they know what they're supposed to be doing

Hmmmm... Watson's second half was actually good - he took Dixon for much of the time, which we needed as Dixon was outgunning Jamison.

some people are hard to please.

we controlled the game without getting out of 3rd gear. i think MM is slowly closing the gap between our best and our worst...

next hurdle is stringing 5-6 wins in a row together

Great Win. A lot of positives.
Watson is developing and Kruezer's tap work was the best I've seen from him, ever! Keep that up Krooz.
Can't wait to see Waite & Henderson forward with the 3 smalls!!!!

glad we won but our game plan we have to change. We play like under 12 get ball and kick it.
G coast at full strength we dont win. We have to change to play like syd ess cats haw this is game plan that is successful.1 numbers in opp fwd line. 2 kick to a team mate not contest. 3 our fwds leading . Any way i cannot wait to the end of season.

Lot of sad sacks on here. Don't know why some people bother.

A bit wasteful, but the good part of that is that we were able to generate so many scoring opportunities.

Thought Kreuzer's tap work was outstanding, even if it was against a weakened ruck division. Was masterful at times. Has found some form in the last few weeks.
