We can't play Casboult. He is a defensive liability. Have we won a game with him in the team this year? Maybe GWS and/or Port. He just keeps up at the start of games and loses it from there.

Surrey, Id bring Laidler in and start him forward. It could be Malthouses masterstroke. He needs one. If it fails we can swing him back to CHB and move Henda up the forward line.

A surprise rejiged forward line is our only hope.

Unfortunately with Waite going out injured they will have to play Casboult. I reckon just let him concentrate on the forward role, he can't ruck and play forward, doesn't have the fitness base. Laidler is too small to play CHB, he's a back flanker and a good one at that.

That's the problem I have in my head.

Thankfully the kids have an attitude that we'll be great again next week.

I got them into this mess...barracking fanatically for Carlton....the kids need hope.

What hope will they have if we lose again to the Saints?

OMG...I don't like our chances...and TBH I dont think MM will give us a chance now that Waite is out, and we're 3 games out of the 8.

Even when Levi ran out of puff after half time he still ran his guts out defensively in the forwardline whilst the other small guys jogged and watched.

Really made me sick.

Levi hasn't got the motor to play 4 Q's as a Fwd -Ruck.

FMD even Kreuzer ran out of puff....after the first quarter and a half. How's the shot at goal he missed in the last only 3 metres out? #1 Draft pick.

It is time to bring in Laidler.

It is time to blood Menzel.

It is time to give us a look at Graham.

IIRC last time against the Saints they were more desperate, harder at the man and ball and were much quicker than us....I watched the game 2 nights ago...my 5 year old was watching it. He loves that game because that's the game Walker took the ball from backline, bouncing through the middle to score goal of the year.

We have all known that we have a soft underbelly after that game...showed a bit against Hawks and Bumbers...and Swans and it all fell apart last night when the soft underbelly started spewing out from their shorts.

Is David Rhys Jones available? Well we need some real hard nuts with a lot of flower...Mangel? Towns? Dominator? Living in the past because the present is so bleak.

...and it is time to play a real ruckman who can win taps over 4 quarters....I don't care which one, Hammer or Warnock.
The least we can do is increase their value....or maybe that's what we're doing with Kreuzer.

Go Blues...its yours to lose.

Walker on Reiwoldt....who else? We've got no one else to match him on speed, endurance and marking power. Walker ticks speed and endurance. Just guessing.
Dont care that much any more TBH. Really gutted and disheartened at what state this club and list are at.

Casboult just gets walked around and ends up accidently laying blocks for the opposition. We don't win when he plays. He needs to kick 3 to break even.
We need to get funky with the forward line. Big K has to go there. Hampson in the ruck because he can play forward better than Warnoch. From there we throw walker forward and Laidler needs to be tried there because that is what Mick has decided to do with him. He can switch it up with Henda if need be but I don't think that will be required.
It will be exciting and could re ignite our season. We have Yaz back to defence and possibly replace one of Garlett and Betts with an onballer that can rotate forward.

We can fight back a bit this season. Last night was terrible but there is still a season to play. Now is when you can really see who wants to stay.

I don't mind that team at all Bluechampion. The only one I would like to see tried at f/fwd is Mitchell. I know he is slow and defensively fairly ordinary but I'd like to see how he goes with some better players in front of him delivering the ball. I don't know if we have much to lose now.

- Betts (inj)
- Casboult
- Curnow/Robbo

In
- Watson (move Hendo forward)
- Menzel
- Warnock/Hampson
- Graham

Watson? due to him keeping his opponents down to 5 goals a game in the two's?

I'd rather try Mitchell this week... not traveling the best himself but would rather him than a ruckman.

What a fillip it would be if Waite gets up.

This game could be a turning point for us. St.K have had our measure, knock them off and things could turn around

Trying to be positive

I'm so glad I saw this post.

Happy happy joy joy...now lets a couple more big boys with class to help him in the forwardline.

Casboult and Hendo with Waite....hang on....how long does bone bruising take before he plays again?

Anyone who has been watching the Northern Blues knows Watson will not play again and will be de-listed at the end of the year. He is soft as butter and hates body contact. Has been beaten easily by the VFL forwards so will get creamed at the AFL level. Graham IMO is a certain starter next week as he has been playing really well. Menzel if fit should also play but he has not played the last couple of games with the Northern Blues- not listed as injured though. Otherwise you go back to the players like AJ, Ellard, Duigan or Laidler - none of whom are starring in the VFL.

Menzel named for tomorrow and I thought only missed one week.

The standard Carlton minor injury announcement is 1-2 weeks, regardless of the reality...especially with Waite. In other words, who knows?
