That was a 70 point win we somehow contrived to turn into a 3 goal win. Given how readily the Port players turned the ball over today we should have utterly destroyed them.

Good to see Murphy get some confidence under his belt and good to see some boys fly the flag when he got belted.

Just wondering though, where the boys all wearing ultra-baggy shorts today as a tribute to Eddie?

Was very happy with the mental turnaround from the St Kilda match...

I thought the Saints match was as bad as we have played for a number of seasons, but "the process" was in place today.

There seemed to be a general commitment to each other and we controlled the match for 70% of the time.

Hendo, Krooze, Garlett and Murph were good.

Cachia and Menzel looked comfortable at this level.

Lucas...well

However it was great to see Warnock dominate with 2 kicks and 5 handballs!

oh, and one pack busting mark.
Don't know what anyone sees in him

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics. Get your head out of your stats sheet and watch the game. I thought Warwick was close to BOG. Stats don't show his blocks, shepherds, knock ons, etc.

G.U.N.

ps....

and when has he ever floated back and cut off an opposition forward thrust????

McEvoy took 10 grabs last week...oops iv'e used stats again! :donk: :donk:

You're right as McEvoy, Warnock is crap.

I don't normally bag umpires. They were pathetic today. We definitely got the raw end of the stick off them today. Don't mind bad decisions but they were bias. We weren't great out there today but final scoreline flattered them.

Good win well played boys.

Makes big difference not playing 3 rucks.

Really was a game of burst play.
When we all go hard we're quite good and it would dtand out if we kicked straight.
No where near as polished as Hawks, Cats and probably the drug cheats.
I'd expect us to suufocate against Freo and Sydney.

I hope we get better.

Kreuzer will get his marking and kicking right, because it must be embarassing for him.
I reckon he and Waite look mobile and dangerous.

Murphy was on fire. Really enjoyed Judd's efforts too, along with the steadying Scotland.
Walker was good too.

Hendo was superb at times. I actually thought his timing was a bit out today too.
Warnock at least would stop the oppositon dominating.
The McEvoy show last week was a coaching issue more than a Warnock issue imo.
Curnow did a fantastic job and good to see him getting arms cleared with strength to find a team mate by hand and foot or put it to their advantage.

Lucas was average and sane with Brock and Simmo and thought Bell and Cachia looked more accomplished than him.
Loved having that barge ass (Bell) in the guts. Seriously strong as an OX and kicks or sets up goals.

Menzel moves well, seems to have a bit of toe unless that's purely fresh legs vs 3Qtrs of leg fatigue.

Would like to see more of Cachia Bell and Menzel .
Who makes way for Gibbs Carrazzo and Yarran? Then Betts in 2 weeks?

Good to get the 4 points.

McEvoy didn't have an opponent floating in our forawdline.
I think that was a coaches decision to go man on man or let them have a spare in their back half.
I reckon it was MMs mistake.

Re the umpiring, WTF has happened to incorrect disposal?? the way players throw and drop the ball these days is a massive blight on the game. Who's responsible?? #KBimlookingatyou

Now that I have got that off my chest there were some positives out there today.
Bell showed a bit. Good set shot for goal. Can really stand up in a tackle.
Liked Bootsma's game. He looks like he has put on a few kilos. Definitely wasn't brushed aside as easily and tackled well.
Hendo. What can I say. I am a big fan. He was great. Joke of a free kick against him in the third quarter.
Murph played a good captains game and hit the scoreboard.
Juddy. He ain't finished yet. Boy we needed him today and he delivered.
Kruz. Marked well and if he had kicked straight should of had at least 3 goals.
Warnock was very good in the ruck I thought. His stats would not show much but I thought he was more than useful around the ground.
Jeffy was Jeffy. Very good.
Army. I am a rap for this guy. Now, he works hard. A very, very important player to this team. Very good today.
Was very disappointed in Lucas last game. Someone must have said something to him. Attacked the footy as hard today as I have ever seen him. Presented well up forward. Quick hands in close.
Scotto, Jammo, Walks and Curnow all good contributors.
Robbo. Love his attack on footy but boy does he kick it anywhere sometimes. Frustrating.
Simmo. Been a great servant. Not sure at the moment. Not backing himself in like we are used to from him. Maybe confidence and playing a new role is effecting him.
Menzel. Not much time on ground. Laid a great tackle to win free. Then a beautiful left foot kick to Robbo. He did not look out of place. He looks a ripper.

Missed Hampson, OMG that funny. Where did we miss him? Warnock killed the ruck and Kreuzer was in fine marking form + great work at ground level.

I thought we got the rub in the first half, them in the 2nd. Perplexed by some calls. But no worse than every other bloody week

A bit of a concern that we cant quite put teams away.\
We were out on our feet in the last qtr but I guess that was the 6 day break and two games on the rock hard Etihad turf.
Robbo still annoys the crap out of me. Gets the ball and just kicks or handballs in hope most of the time.

You could be right bluehammer. I thought they got some soft ones which resulted in goals. We got the first one to Robbo but I think they paid us back a few times after that. As I said I don't normally bag them but today seemed to be worse than ever. I know the people around me were pretty vocal about a lot of the calls. It's not as if us Carlton supporters are bias in any way.

Surprised not many others picked up on this...

Thought today was an expected win against an inferior team. The game plan was very good and Malthouseesque where no player dominated in the mids but many had plenty of it. The coach obviously likes guys like Bell, Bootsma, Cachia and Curnow ahead of our equivalent bottom six players. In that respect? I like the player turnover. The mids battle after the elite ones go through. Adding Gibbs. Carrots. Eddie and the Yaz man will put us closer to the top six but no side ever has 100% availability.
Hampson is trade material but who would want him for the first round pick we used on him? Cut our losses anyway I think. Waite is irreplaceable but he is 30 and is a nuffy. The money that Judd has now allowed us to use has to be accorded to an elite player but more so a Waite replacement. We have drafted many recently for no real result barring the Bolt and Sam Rowe.
I would love Daisy Thomas at Carlton but hope we can snag a Waite replacement.
Personally I am rapt that we have snared Geelong's recruitment 2IC. Their recruiting has been as good as any team in the AFL and that is the area that deserves the most money in any club in my mind.

Waite and Hendo are our most important players in my mind and both ensured the win. Murphy was superb and well used by the coach. Jamo is just a gun. Walker was superb again.

No sarcasm. Straight up what I think. Hampson isn't in our team if Warnock and Kreuzer and fit.

Pretty scrappy game but a win is a win.
Great game by Murphy.
Need to work on our goal kicking, should have been a bigger winning margin.
Umpiring was bewildering at times, especially in the third term.
Any news on Waite? Looked liked he cramped late in the third.
