Loved it when Sam the court jester brought up Cloke.

You could see the little ferret-mole freeze for a second when he thought he'd missed a scoop, but then he switched straight into hypocrite mode - eye roll, grow up, this is serious etc.

Barrett makes Hutchy look like Bob Woodward.

There's:

1. Great Journalists
2. Good Journalists
3. Ordinary Journalists
4. Shit Journalists
5. Most Australian Footy Journalists
6. Hutchy
7. Daylight
8. More Daylight
9. Grade 2 kids with crayons
10. Barrett

On second thought, maybe the Grade 2 kids should be at number 6......

They promoted the show on tripple m saying Barrett has big news on players wanting to leave a big Victorian club. When the time came to say the news he said nothing but crap. God I hate the bloke with a passion, they should justget Billy Brownless to read the latest news. I would be more worth while watching it that way.

Pathetic post.
Riley may not be your cup of tea but he's been a commited member of the coaching staff and well regarded within the industry.
Its a shame the club cant be as selective about its "supporters"

Its obvious Brown and Barker have been told they're safe whilst the others have been kept in the dark. Yes they "may" get a full payout (which is the subject of debate at the moment) but they're also entitled to chase other employment. If they're getting the arse, just tell them.
Another piss poor effort from a half arsed administration.

I agree, not sure if Riley, Williams or Richardson are good coaches but the club must let them know of their intentions. The club knew MM was coming and this should have been sorted out ASAP and possibly announced at the press conference or immediately after. Makes the club look really unprofessional. The club knows if they are required or not, why not tell them so we can all move on.

Barrett is a Hutchy wannabe.

Don't think I agree with this.

Malthouse is entitled to have more than a few days to decide which assistants he wants to keep, just as they have the right to look elsewhere for a job.

What's the rush? They will still get paid out if they're given the sakc next week or next month, and other clubs will still be looking around for good coaches in October as much as they maybe are now.

If the people in question aren't told of their futures until December, then that's a problem, but for now it's just a negotiating beat-up.

The captain rates Richardson extremely highly.

Fair call. Should have been better handled by Swan, Mckay, & Sticks.

Greg Swan was on 3AW tonight talking about this. His version is a bit different from Williams'. He said that the club had been up front with but with hindsight some things could have been done differently. He mentioned that the club was a bit bemused about the Footy Show report with someone from the coaches association on saying the club hadnt responded to Williams' demand. He said that the letter asked for a reply by 14th September and on 13th September they said the club hadnt responded yet.
A bit of a mess and it seems Malthouse is copping some of the blame when it wasnt his fault.

The media is well and truly in "Discredit Malthouse" at every opportunity mode. I have no doubt who is the ring leader behind this but we need to make sure we have a plan to combat the avalanche. It will get worse.

DISENCHANTED Carlton assistant Mark Riley is now expected to remain at the club in a development role, despite his former colleague Brett Ratten suggesting that staying could prove untenable given the club's treatment of him.

Whilst for all we know Riley might be happy to stay there, I cant help but think of this guy every time I read about how his employment is being portrayed....

Carlton. The club that cheats, steals, tanks and is mean to it's employees.

It will be interesting to see how the new board members assess Greg Swan's performance during this year.
Does anyone know when his contract expires?

Is the talk of his relationship with MM true ?

Wasn't he also a big factor in getting Judd to us?

Probably the two biggest signings we've had in a long long time.
