You're saying Ratten leaked it?

The club has already tried this.

The problem is the media can sense the damn is about to break open. So they'll keep applying pressure to that dam until it all spills out. They don't care if it takes one day, one week or one month. They'll just keep chipping away.

I'd say Ratten's position is pretty much untenable right now and the only way I can see him coaching on the weekend is if it's under the guise of a farewell game, or at least it has been officially announced beforehand that he will be sacked. But that's a separate debate.

This could get very, very ugly.

That's no good for anyone.

So much for a review hey? (if the reports are true)

Completely unprofessional.

Who's to say there isn't going to be a review or that there hasn't been one going for a while?

Why everyone feels the need to be privy to everything is beyond me but there you go.

On the surface perhaps, and far be it for any of us to defend the club/board from our armchairs, but it does seem as though a review has been underway if McKay's presence in the coaching box is anything to go by.

"Blues set to sack Ratten"

Carlton is expected to confirm the sacking of head coach Brett Ratten on Thursday.

The Blues released a statement on Wednesday afternoon announcing a media conference would be held Thursday morning to "clarify the speculation regarding Brett Ratten's coaching future".

The statement was issued amid unconfirmed media reports Ratten had been informed he would not coach the Blues next season, despite having one year remaining on his contract.

Ratten's future has been clouded in light of their shock two-goal defeat to Gold Coast at Carrara last Saturday night, which meant the club miss the finals for the first time since 2008.

Three-time premiership coach Mick Malthouse is the favourite to replace Ratten as Blues coach.

More to follow.

Ratten tells family & close friends

News leaks to media that he's sacked

Media spills the beans

Club insists to media that NO DECISION has been made

Media in full flight

Club shits itself and calls a presser for tomorrow to fess up

What a busy day. Just listening to radio and David Schwarz said that he has heard that Judd will stand down as captain. He also said that Cloke had re-signed so hard to believe him.
Press conference tomorrrow morning at 9.30 re Ratten.

That's one interpretation. The truth is probably different. BUT no one in this forum knows it. Its all speculation.

Feel very sorry for Ratten with the way he has been treated on all fronts through all of this. A Club champion that only ever wanted the very best for the Blues in his time as coach. The club saw improvement each year he was at the helm...and the one season where we have one of our worst injury lists on record, and still win 11, maybe 12 games for the season, he is shown the door.

It doesn't excuse the GC Suns loss at all...as a supporter I can't remember a more embarrassing loss...even those two losses to much weaker opponents in '95 didn't feel as bad. But there is no excuse for treating a club coach like this...let alone a great clubman.

I'll still support the club through thick and thin, and purchase memberships, but I have lost a hell of a lot of respect for many in charge at Princes Park.

If they announced he was staying, it'd be the best troll of the media since Ross Lyon sneaking over to Freo with noone knowing :donk:
