Who in their right mind would elect Michael Jamison to be Captain?

Why do you say that Doc? Listening to the Carlton Podcasts and seeing him on TV as a guest on shows gives me the impression that he is intelligent and has natural leadership qualities. He is also at the experience level you want your captain to be at.

Jamo and Carrots would be my first two candidates for the captaincy should Judd not have it. I think Murph is more suited to being in a leadership group instead. Same for Simmo.

He's only had a single year where injury hasn't ruined his season, for starters. I think you want your captain to be a relatively constant presence on the ground.

I agree he's a smart, personable guy. But seems pretty introverted. Wouldn't be high up on my list.

Not sure if anyone's screaming CAPTAIN though.

Carrazzo is Italian for Captain.

I'm not sure why any of us think we know who would be a good captain. Who here thought Maxwell or Harley would make great captains before they were appointed by their respective clubs?

For all we know, there's a maxwell somewhere in our group.

I'd lean towards Carrazzo or Simpson - both old enough, consistent enough, and have worked bloody hard to get where they are.
I reckon either of them would do anything to lead their team to a flag given a chance.

But it should be who the players respect the most - being media savvy is important, but not as important as how the players regard him.

Not the worst idea ever... love to see the players take some ownership for this shit season

I may be wrong but I think CK95 was joking as that's what happened last year, and look what that did!

I'm certain you're wrong because I saw Murph, Judd and Robbo (who was absolutely wasted) out clubbing as day broke the Monday after we got knocked out by West Coast!

Yeah, was actually 2010 not last year. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/more-news/heartbreak-as-blues-fall-short-again/story-e6frf9jf-1225914516754

The players have signalled their intent by banning Mad Monday after ex-forward Brendan Fevola's antics last year.

The Blues will have a post-season review today before a quiet lunch tomorrow.

Made up my mind...change of message...change of Captain....Simpson's our man. I'm particularly impressed by where he looks to get some inspiration from...

Well they certainly earned it last year.
Judd sure has a presence about him. Parted the dance floor like Moses.

Back to the topic at hand, Jamison would get my vote if he didn't spend most of every season in the stands.
After that it's Simmo, Carrazzo and Laidler in my eyes.
Of the three I rate Simpson the highest. His hardness, consistency & tenacity should be a standard that every young player seeks to emulate.

Carrots and/or simmo have my vote. Let's players like Judd and murph do their thing without the captaincy . Look at Geelong Harley wasn't the best player but he was a great leader .

Only if Judd doesn't want the gig as capatain anymore I'd go for Carrazzo coz its synonymous with Lygon st, or Simmo coz he's Simmo.

Leave Judd in the role. He's the best man for it at this point.

If someone else wants it they have this year to step up and show they deserve it.

Giving the captains role out willy nilly is not a strong leadership move IMO.
