Then the club is risking their necks and possibly going from bad to worse to appease the idiots demanding Ratten's head. The sad thing is a lot of the supporters are dumb enough to buy that Malthouse is the panacea for our troubles. After all, footy is a game followed by bogans.

Signing Malthouse would only ramp up the pressure on the club to win a flag next year or in 2013. You wouldn't pay through the nose for a big name coach if you think you need to rebuild. Players haven't shown that they can handle this pressure and deliver. Pains me that we might bypass a bright young coach who could develop with the players like Worsfold, Thompson and others have done.

I hope that the board, President and CEO have the patience and intelligence to look at a younger coach. Yet there's no evidence of this. They'll just leave that to Collingwood who went down this road and haven't looked back. I guess every cloud has a silver lining. igning Malthouse and having it blow up their in faces could be the death knell for the President and the board. And possibly Swann.
