If Jamo is right to come in this week, I'd expect a taller player to be dropped. Otherwise, I think our team balance is upset.

I agree - not sure we can drop Thornton as he is primarily playing as a forward to fill Walker's role.
Henderson/Laidler/Bower are all playing too well to be omitted.
It will be interesting to see what the MC decide.

Me thinks we may here the magic phrase "rotation" this week.

Sounds like FIGJAM will be going back to the defensive boundry hugging Malthouse game plan against the tiggies.

If the Pois try to go head to head with us then we'll smash them, if they zone us then it will be a lot closer.

I think it will be Russel for Jamo.
He is the only one who hasn't been sublime.
Love duigs and we need him back.
Not sure for who though just yet.
Jamo on Cloke
Hendo on Dawes
Bower 3rd man up
Jamo is still our most important player imo.
When we play a real side he value can't be measured
Jamo is Ze General!

Id bring both Jamo and Duigs straight in. This is the BIG TIME, and we need our best possible team out on the park if we re to be any chance of beating the Pies.

Im afraid Russell will be one of the boys to make way, and probably and somewhat unluckily, one of Bower or T-Bird.

The key to winning will be to beat them in the midfield (which is doable but tough) and capitalising on our opportuniuties up forward (remember we hit the post 6 times against them late last year and only lost by 3 goals)...

Glad I'm not the one picking the side in the coming weeks. After agonising over who to drop for Duigan, Walker will be putting his hand up. Then Warnock.

I'm afraid JR has to go for this one.
We've been able to carry him against Richmond and Brisbane but he'll be found out against the pies.
The intensity is going to be at a whole new level.
I hope he can get back to 2010 form, but he needs to dominate in the 2's for a couple of weeks before he should get another look in.
We have enough depth now that no one should be getting a game for mediocrity.

Jamo obviously will come back in. The question is whether Duigs will as well and if so, who else will be dropped.

We'll win, but then still cop flak for not beating anyone above us.

Does anyone know if Jamison and Duigan will have a hit out this weekend? I heard / read somewhere that there is an intra-club game that they will play in, but can't find details of it.

Intra was last night, RR has a brief report for us in TalkingNorthern. Searched high and low I see. :P

Searched Carlton and Training...didn't think a Carlton intra would be under Northern

Ah! It was a Northern Blues intraclub game. ;)

Bower or Thornton would have to be the sub if you wanted to bring Jamison in. Otherwise, we would be too tall at the G against the Pies. Laidler is easily our best 3rd man up so he keeps his position.

I would like to see Carlton trying to force obrien matching up against Betts. Harry really struggled against Rioli the other night.

Jr seems to be the one to go.......Bower has been good but you could not drop Thornton ahead of him, Thornton is a better player who is much more versatile and reliable....And there is no substitute for experience....Thornton must play all year.

Why the hell are they playing the two biggest ethnic supported teams on their good Friday??

AFL are a bunch of two faced morons......

B: Tuohy Jamo. Laidler
HB: Yarran. Hendo. Bower.
C: Simmo. Carrots. Army
HF: Betts. Waite. Gibbs
F: Thornton. Hammer. Garlett.
Foll: Kreuz. Judd. Murph.
Int: Scotland. Robbo. Curnow.
Sub: Lucas

Jamo in for Russell. Leave Thornton fwd. Will still have plenty of run and when need be sub a tall off for Lucas. Duigan can return when someone can afford to be dropped. All his competition have done enough to warrant selection.

3 tall marking fwds will cause a headache as there isn't really a preferred option for us to kick too and their match ups will be crucial.

I've chucked army on wing to begin, let him use his speed and see if he can run riot like round 1. if he gets lost or his opponent runs riot bring on the ever reliable Scotland.

If Jammo comes in they might drop Thornton and Gibbs takes his place in the forward line.
That would keep Bower in defence or might drop JR and keep Thornton as sub, but that will make us too tall.
We will have Waite, Hammer/Kruezer, Gibbs.

Gibbs may be used to keep Pendlebury under control. Has worked in the passed but perhaps tweaks to our gameplan wont allow that to take place this time. Possibly during the course of the game it may get called upon.

Hope not. Ever since Fev left, O'Brien's played on Betts and smashed him every time.

I can't see who they play on Garlett for mine. Carrazzo to Shaw is a must I think. Wonder if we'll consider bringing Joseph in. Who gets Swan is a mystery to me.

I reckon everything is going to plan...just a hunch.

I'd like to think they have more to worry about us than us of them. The tables have turned.
Swan, Pendles and Thomas are hot AFL players, but I really think the rest of them just even up their structure...not stars. Carlton midfield is seriously star studded.

Carrots takes Swan or Pendles. Swan is not the same player since the sub rule. The Brownlow was a charity last year imo.

The preseason just finished at the Gabba on the weekend and the serious tlit for the flag starts this Friday.
Bring it on.

Jamo should be selected to play if he's fit to play.

Ratts is capable of a surprise selection by picking Walker. Not nececssary though but depends on how much % we want from this game. I would prefer Warnock rucking against Jolly, but Hammer and Kreuzer are enough to stetch them in the ruck.

So exciting being a bluebagger. On our way to being undefeated for the remainder of the year. So far so good.
I don't want to put a lid on it. I'm enjoying spreading the Navy Blue word up here at Byron.
