Waite pain leaves Blues struggling

Quote:
"Waite had not trained last week as he managed soreness in his groin and hip and then aggravated the injury against the Bulldogs on Sunday. He needed to be subbed out of the game early in the second quarter, but Icke defended the decision to play him.

"He was sore the week before but he played and he played well against Richmond so we thought he was OK to go, and it was more that he had a little incident early in the game where he flew for a mark and tweaked it as he jumped,'' Icke said.
''But he went into the game in no worse shape than he went into the previous week's game against the Tigers when he played well, so it had more to do with the incident in the first quarter.''

I thought it was a hamstring that kept him out for 3-4 weeks before the Richmond game?

I would call that bad injury management personally.

Austin will come in for Hendo to play forward. I don't see what options we have other than Hendo and Kreuz. Thornton has kicked 14 goals in his career. Bower looked lost. Cloke will moster whoever else we play on him but if we don't have targets up forward, we are double screwed.

Opportunity.

Hawthorn have arguably the most depleted list going around, and have done for a few weeks.

Yet they sit 3rd.

This is okay - we need to lose enough to finish 6th  .

Collingwood will be week 1 of our cunning plan :sly: .

I'm really sick of all the negative people on here.

Nothing worse than having a loss and seeing a bunch of Carlton Members throw in the towel for the season over one loss/injury for a couple weeks.

Just wish Carlton Members would grow some balls and stand up for their club!!!.

Clubs lose games, but you should never lose faith in the club. Any game Carlton play, l believe they can win if they come to play and i'm hoping they come with some old carlton spirit and smash the pies on the weekend!!.

+1

Our opponents will be without Didak, Beams, Dawes, Brown and Johnson.

Their outs evens the score.

Ahh, so he ended up having the surgery. Waite is probably our most important player alongside Jamison along our spine

Should come back via the Ants but they have a bye this week  so will not get a game until the following week. Of which there is that week and the following and then another bye .
