Got home late last night after a wonderful weekend in Brisbane.
Had a fantastic time at the game, sitting behind the goals near the GC cheer squad.
It was hard to believe that another team was playing on Saturday night as all we heard was alot of crap about GC. We had to put up with songs, even a Beatles classic-Here comes the Sun prior to the match. There was a really annoying blonde woman asking stupid questions such as how had it will be for AFL in Qld as apparently it is new up there.
What made my blood boil was after the game she had to interview a GC player after they had been thumped by almost 20 goals as Judd was being carried off the ground. Showed no respect at all and was a disgrace.
Had alot of Carlton supporters near where i was sitting and the club had good support overall.
The weather wasnt too hot but there will be some sore bodies this week.
It has been a long time since we had a win like that so we enjoyed the match, giving it to Ablett and the so-called GC supporters.
Go Blues.
Topped off a great weekend by learning at the airport that Essendon* had been beaten by 5 points.

Kezza did you cop any of those beetle looking bugs falling from the sky? Leaving the stand the floor was covered with these bugs, it was like a scene from Indiana Jones.

Fortunately was sitting under cover so none of those weird looking bugs fell on us. Couldnt believe how many squashed bugs were on the ground though. A little girl in front of us had some huge cricket like insect on her head, poor thing.
Was impressed with the GABBA, a good ground to watch from and good facilities.

Agree, a very good ground for the supporters.

My first time at the Gabba provided a wonderful festival of Carlton goals and individual highlights... pity the contest was over so quickly. What was really interesting to me, other than having an 8 man defence (GCS) within 15 minutes was GC's insistence on mostly playing young forward lines and inexperienced defences yet a full midfield of senior experience. Anyways fat lot of good it did them as we destroyed them from the middle.

Great to catch up with Bombasheldon before the game in the Pineapple and then Patsfitrick in the gents at half time!

Shame on verbs for staying down the coast. Would have been good to have finally met Hillwood's finest export.

Regardless of the opposition; some good positive signs.

I remember all too well during our ''yuk'' decade; where we wouldn't smash a side on the scoreboard as we did on Sat. night.....we'd relax, and let them get a sniff...but not this time.
