I rasied the "early doors" thing last year, also under the assumption he meant "early days" as that's normally the context he uses the term.

However, someone dug a seemingly legitimate reference that it originated in the UK. Since then I've heard heaps of people use the term now, haha. So now that I have some closure I've managed to build a bridge from the get go and started looking forward to late doors, which, presumably will have #17 behind it.

So when we see the Early Doors, we'll take it one game at a time but ensure we give 110 percent, we want to play within ourselves, but as usual Juddy came to play.

Hendo is about to take it to the next level, and Russell has really stepped up. Hampson has tremendous upside, but yeah, he just wanted it more.

Murph has a great work ethic, and with our backs against the wall, we have to generate, to sending a message.

They just know how to win which demonstrates great athleticism, and we overcame adversity. It was a must-win game, and no-one gave us a chance...but it's still Early Doors.....

most of all it was pleasing.

Dunno what they're talking about, they were only ever known as potato cakes in the South East.

IIRC he went on a trip to England one off-season for a fact-finding mission and spent a bit of time with some EPL clubs. I suspect he may have grafted the term from that trip.

Perhaps Stephen M could ask Ratts to explain himself at the next board meeting?

I'd sure sleep easier at night in the knowledge that our coach doesn't require elocution lessons!

Yez are all making a mountain out of a thingy. Who cares? early doors, early days.... whatevs.

The one I can't stand, hate it, hate it, hate it.... is.....

"To be honest....."

Well sheeyit. Why wouldn't you be honest??

I wish footballers and coaches would stop starting every other sentence with TBH, I mean, do they mean that when they don't say it, they're not being honest?????

To be honest, at the end of the day, I agree with you, it must be said.

When I was a kid (many many moons ago) growing up in the country town of Maryborough ... I remember this term was used a great deal ...

I think the English got it from us.
