2010 memberships....

http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/208/default ... wsid=98326

Last year we were 4th, way behind Collingwood and Hawthorn, just behind Essendon*. Richmond was significantly behind us, once their unofficial memberships were removed from the counting.

For those concerned about the future in 2010 we also had a very promising amount of junior members, quite encouraging given our recent record!

We need to grow our membership numbers, as we are being overtaken by clubs who have bottomed out on field (Ess, Rich) and we are supposedly on the rise.

I think we're delusional in thinking we have a massive supporter base. We did in the 70's, 80's and 90's, and that was to be expected on the back of successful eras, but what have we done since to grow?

I think we need to spend more time interstate in promoting memberships and leveraging supporter groups in those states in increasing numbers there, and I'm not talking we just use the opportunity when we play interstate there to leverage those opportunities, rather dedicate a day in the off season where we fly a group of say 5 to 8 players, and some clever some marketing gurus, who spend a day in that state promoting CFC memberships (like a mini family day) and offer incentives to do so.

We need to research our customer base, understand their spending habits by age group are target market memberships to those people. We have the funds to invest in such an initiative, so why not outlay it for the longer term benefit? Interested to hear the thoughts of Stephen M?

What is our target in say 5 years, 10 years? 100,000 members? We need a long term strategy in growing revenue, period, and not just rely on Pokies revenue.

Looks like the membership numbers have grown significantly in the past three weeks. We will have around 35,000 members come round 1.

More good work in our membership drive :garthp:

"Judd will also join other players not playing in the first round of the NAB Cup signing autographs for supporters prior to the game on Saturday night." from the CFC website.
Turned up early last night to help my mates take their kids (Richmond & Carlton supporters) to the meet & greet session before the game. Great effort by Richmond & Collingwood to supply all of their big name players who did not play last night (Didak, Maxwell, Swan, Deledio, Riewoldt, Cotchin, Martin, etc, etc). I reckon the tiges had about 15 blokes there & the pies about a dozen. We managed to provide 3!!! Lachie, Luke Mitchell (he's a large lad) & Matty Kreuzer.
It looked very ordinary for us that they had to shunt our blokes off to a little corner table, to make room for all the tiges & pies players.
If you advertise Juddy, please provide Juddy. While it was great to meet the 3 blokes there, all nice guys too, the majority of Blues supporters there were expecting to meet Juddy.

I sense a common theme between this post and the family day.

Yeah that's rubbish. We had quite a few blokes not playing last night - they could have all fronted up to the autograph table.

Has anyone got their pack yet? Apparently a lot of people are receiving certificates showing years of membership with the wrong amount...

In tough negotiations with a 4yr old who thinks she is going to join her mum in supporting Collingwood. Any ideas would be great.

Tell her the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa all support Carlton and won't visit if she follows the Filth.

Cousins or other young friends who follow the Blues are great influencers - make sure your 4yr old, chills out with them A LOT!
