I wonder how much time, money and effort is spent on a marketing slogan and how many people buy memberships because of it who wouldn't otherwise.

I can count on one hand the number of team slogans I can remember over the years. Does anyone remember our slogans from before 2007 without looking at their bumper stickers? It's in the news for a few months and then forgotten about pretty quickly, 'they know we're coming' being the obvious exception.

I buy a membership every year without fail. Membership slogans don't even figure into the equation where I'm concerned. There's something wrong if some supporters have to be presented with a favourable slogan as an added incentive to sign up with the club they supposedly 'love'.

I wasn't having a go at your interpretation at all BV, just Rexy's follow up. It certainly is a negative tact to take on the surface but handled correctly it's a uniting message. We'll have to wait and see.

However, in no way whatsoever is it a 'safe' option. None of these recent campaigns have been.

Yes it is a uniting message jim but in comparison to 'they know we're coming' and 'can you smell what the blues are cooking' it's taking a different tact. The earlier 2 were confident statements of expectant improvement which potentially left the club exposed to a backlash if that didn't happen. 'No passengers' doesn't exude the same confidence. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just different IMO.

Would like to see a 'Carlton: We're everywhere' campaign.

So in doing that you can show highlights of tackling pressure, running in numbers, crowd going up as one, billboards in various locations, players and others in various locations (e.g Gibbs, Simpson, Setanta, Betts were all in Ireland), Heath Scotland in Vegas, Jeffy in the Outback, Juddy waiting for Twiggs at the alter, Megan Gale on the catwalk, a lone Carlton fan in the midst of Man Utd supporters, NY Yankee fans, at the cricket amongst the green and gold, at the tennis among the 'Fanatics', at a Metallica concert, Murph at the races...AFOREMENTIONED ALL IN A CARLTON JUMPER...you get my drift...endless opportunities.

It's definitely different. The first two were wider announcements to the public in general. This is an announcement to the Carlton faithful and the club made publicly. They're either asking/demanding for something (but it's not a hand out), or they're making a war cry out of an internal expectation.

It's not a softer touch. Glad we agree it's not a bad thing.

Nup...wouldn't be difficult at all keeping in mind that footage wouldn't have to be done with a film crew..just a hand held and lighting meter...no audio, you can dub that in...5 second grab of each...too easy.

I like it. Fans could send in photos of themselves wearing the navy blue in interesting places.

I agree Club, I'd prefer to see a "take on one, take on all" approach rather than no passengers. "No passengers" seems to focus more on the negative IMO.
In saying that, nothing shits me more than hearing someone knock something without coming up with a solution or alternative.
Therefore, I'd like to see what some TC members can come up with. There'es plenty of creative minds getting around here.

Nah jim, it'd be massive

If they throw in all the commercial association Doc was going on about (Yankees, United) they sure could drum it up with CGI, but they'd still have to pay for rights. Not sure why either club would be interested in a commercial partnership. Then there's Metallica, etc.

It's not just about filming sites.
