As a whole, Australians have little idea what constitutes good customer service. Businesses fail to realise how integral it is to their brand. They need to realise that when people walk into Visy Park - they are after an experience. Good customer service goes a long way to promoting what a great club it is.

Unless you travel OS and the US especially, you don't realise how bad the customer service is in Australia.
You're right in that a customer focused approach is to ensure you leave the place haveing had a positive experience. That ensures repeat business, positive word of mouth and encourages people to spend more in the first place.
Australian retail is more of a "don't know" "don't care" approach. They don't care because they get their $17.50/hour regardless of how much they sell or how highly the customers rate them and unless they stab a customer, they won't lose their jobs because it's too hard for lazy managers to replace them and what they find isn't much better anyway.

I think it can be improved with better staff training but thats only if the people running the place ie CFC are enthusiastic about their customers in the first place. I'd love BLue Sombrero to send an email just to see the pitiful response he gets. The workers quickly pick up if the boss cares or not. If the boss doesnt care, why should I?

Best service in Australia, Adelaide.

Worst, Anywhere in WA, in particular Perth.

If it is cc'd to different departments, it is surprising what gets through to the boss...(I know, I'm the one who filters the emails at my work  ).

Don't be so sure, I sent a complaint about Docklands to the club by fax, not addressed to anyone in particular and I got a response by letter from Greg Swann within a week.

Thanks for reading my stuff.
Some good funny replies there.

Now to beat the Swans.
