We turn the ball over because we're not a skilled side. Players picking the wrong option can be attributed to poor coaching (although experience is also a factor) but you don't miss an open team mate 30 metres away because you're confused or because your instincts have been stifled. You miss because your skills need improvement.

So now we're not skilled. Gee that flies in the face of all those other stats (clearances, tackles, f50, contested poss). Ratts is a flowering genius then. A crappy, unskilled side made it to the finals last year.....whoohoo. Hold the presses, we're on the right path.

You need to learn how to deal with a loss Prelim. Sounds like this one has tipped you over the edge.

Nice try mate.

My question is, if we have a good win against Adelaide this week, will you show up here or will we have to wait for the next loss to see you again?

Ando plays on, is tackled, ball turned over goal - how the hell is that anything to do with Ratts. It's about a kid learning the game and developing his awareness.

T-Bird kicking out on the full is not a Ratts gameplan mistake, it is a trait of T-Bird's to succumb to implied pressure - perhaps from being in the crappiest defence for so long, perhaps its something he has always had.

Yazz and Betts missing two weeks ago again had nothing to do with the gameplan.

Carrot's miss, Army's miss, Russell's kick out turnover, none of these came about from static plays but from errors with their skills. Tex's two out of bounds were from trying to move the ball on, not from static play.

It's quite obvious I was referring to our disposal. None of the stats you mentioned, besides contested possessions depending on the context, have anything to do with our disposal.

I'd be much more interested in the reasons why in one short week we could go from unskilled to skilled...

If we dont make as many skill errors we will have a better chance of winning. We have been making too many mistakes lately.

Walker missing a bloke by twenty metres in the clear is a terrible mistake. He will need to improve this if he wants to go up a level. Unless Ratts is clever enough to make sure there are players 20 metres each side of his targets just in case.

Big Henda might want to kick them goals from 30m in front too. Cant afford to make mistakes like that.
Betts has to go back and take the shots when he marks it 10 metres out. Playing on was mistake.
Russell beter makes sure he doesnt run over the ball in backline. It gave away an easy goal last week. Bad mistake.

Cut back on the basic mistakes and we will stand a better chance.

......and play with some ticker. Last weeks game was terrible in that respect.

we didn't, we lost both games due to skill errors.

These blokes were not rookies becuase they were blessed with skill

otherwise they would have all been early draft picks

we have a lot of players lining up each week off the rookie draft - there is a reason they were overlooked

Thornton Joseph Carrazo Ohalpin Jamison Betts and even Ando was pick 70 odd

the bloke who should be doing better is pick 2

We have the number 1's and Judd and not much after that our 2nd and third round draft selections since 2004 with the exception of Bower have been ordinary to say the least

Its funny how our skills against Richmond was at par but then fell away drastically when we faced stern opposition.

You have to ask why... because the players are not appropriately motivated during match day or they have no self belief.

The players are not instilled with an element of mental toughness. Ratts is too nice of a guy and gentleman.. SACK HIM.
