One point to make though Dominator7 is that if you hope to see Fevola play in that potential match-up then you'll be disappointed. He's already said he will keep the powder dry until he plays us in round 2.

Who cares about Fev.. He's yesterday's hero... I just want to see us playing back on our true home ground...

Any reason why O'Keefe and Austin arn't playing ??? Thought it would be the perfect opportunity to play both of them.

I think it's a 26 person team for the actual game (24 playing plus 2 emergencies which swap around). So with 29 in the full squad 3 would be dropped.

It will be interesting to see who is finally dropped from the squad. If they want to proceed through the comp then I can see Davies, Anderson and Ellard being dropped (the 3 weakest players from the squad) but if they are more interested in development and playing around with the squad then I would drop Wiggins, Carazzo and Scotland (we know what all 3 can do and where they would play in the new look line up). I would like to think that Jacobs and Robinson would be subs, with Jacobs subbing for Warnock (a half game is a good work out on Warnock's 1st showing for the Blues) and Robinson subbing for Lucas.

From reading reports of the intraclub and summer training it seems like Fisher has been picked on merit.

I have as many doubts on Fish as a lot of others around here. But equally, he has been a good clubman, he is in the leadership group, he has reportedly worked on a lot of his deficiencies over summer, and he has every right to be picked according to form going into the NAB Cup. Good luck to him I say... and I hope he proves a lot of us doubters wrong!

If I had to have a guess on this one Drewgirl then I would give two main points:

1. He isn't yet fit enough. This was mentioned by Riley after the intraclub. It sounds like he needs a bit of work yet - nothing wrong with that.

2. Ratts has probably devised a forward line that works around Kreuzer, Hammer, Henderson, Waite, and O'Hailpin, and I reckon he wanted to see how it would function with the four fit players in that group before adding any other tall variables.

Donaldson has also had a good preseason according to the reports but he's missed out.

We know what Fisher and Wiggo can do, I think we should be giving all the young guys a taste.

Austin is still recovering from his abdominal operation from the end of last season according to Bigfooty. May not play at all in NAB cup

Weather for Sydney Sat 20/02/2010

Saturday Mostly fine. Sunny periods.
City: Min: 19 Max: 26
West: Min: 16 Max: 29

With 2 subs and 6 on the bench plus 18 on the ground at any one time, CFC is putting out a tallish team versus a smallish Sydney.
Compare the height of the rucks and on ball players.

If around the ground the CFC rucks and on ballers can clear the packs (always a task when you play Sydney) then there will be a clear gap in the scores given the advantage of fast ball delivery to a series of one on one tall target players with small players hoping for a spilled ball.
So the key to this game will be getting your hand on the ball and being able to clear the packs.

What intraclub reports were you reading??

5 minutes of that game and you knew it was same old Fish. He's brought nothing new to the mix. Fish shouldn't have been picked; he got miles in the legs last week and there are better candidates waiting in the wings.

Can the club present an injury list, because there are some young names that have missed out for no apparent reason. Ellard is a borderline selection; we've loaded up on forward options and older fringe midfielders without a thought to rotating our backmen...

Poorly selected squad if we wanted to manage individual workloads.

Brownes stiff. I thought he showed a fair bit more than Davies.
