I remember back when Sir Richard came on board to save the club and change the dirstion of the club and the negative publicity the Media continue to report about the club.

Pratt invited Sheehan to Malaysia on his private jet.

As a result the stories for the next month were very positive for the club.

Despite the fact we lierally paid for a piece of positive journalism for the club, the result was positive from there on...till Samuels got stuck into Pratt.

There was another peace deal done with The Age, after Caroline Wilson unfairly targeted Carlton FC for a couple of years. IIRC the Age reporters were snubbed by the club, but a deal seemed to be done for some fairness and balanced reporting of CFC.

I don't know what was done about Fatrick Smith's continued attack on anything Carlton, but he seems to have toned down a bit.

Carlton bashing by the 3 papers seems to be or have been sport for them, and this type of blatant bashing should not be tolerated and needs to be nipped at the bud, and not allowed to fester.

Something needs to be done to fix this up. The situation should not be allowed to continue as it is.

I'm sick of CFC doing nothing about this situation with the HUN. Lets get on the front foot.

As stated yesterday, I have cancelled my subscriptions to the HUN. There's just no point in reading bias crap against MY club. Every CFC supporter should do the same.

If the few knuckleheads at the club simply kept their noses clean and acted as the highly paid professionals they are, there'd be no negative stories to report.

We need to do something. Despite the HUN’s absolute gutter journalism, this is getting way beyond a joke and needs to be addressed.

Getting some positive news out there wouldn’t hurt.

Announcing a significant sponsorship would be a pretty good start I would of thought.

I agree.

When we stop giving them stories to write about we can start complaining, until then we're bringing it upon ourselves.

I cancelled my subscription today anyway

I am not buying the herald sun everyday again, unless they change their attitudes towards Carlton.

We should all make a stand, and also write letters to them telling them so.

I agree the club needs to do something about this vendetta.

I won't bother with the HUN anymore. True, if our players kept their noses clean there would be nothing to report but in this case their noses are clean and still the herald sun turned it in to a negative.

Crap newspaper all round really.

The Herald Sun are only embarrassing themselves now....

Even Mike and Robbo would be ashamed.

Maybe the Herald Sun should write an article about the unrest amongst Carlton supporters in regards to their blatant attack on the Blues. Front page is out due to the article being a possitive but we can guarantee that their own will be their. Hille's year of pain and subsequent recovery possibly?

Our Comms Manager should be on top of that. He's not on top of much though unfortunately.

As for the Herald-Sun...we need to sit down and have a chat very soon. This vendetta against the footy club has got way out of control and is becoming very, very damaging. Sponsors aren't going to go near us. Remember - 19 games on TV this year...sponsors should be knocking down the door. They're not...(although I expect some news in early Feb).

There is no Comms Manager.
If there is, I can't see any results, therefore he's not doing his job.

No doubt in my mind, we need a decent proactive Comms Manager.

Our Comms Manager sends read receipts, as does our CEO. Pity I get no feedback.

Funny that my post on the HS website never made it up, wouldn't want the integrity of Chris de Krester to come into question now would we.

My first reaction when I saw this story online was- THANK GOD I DON'T PAY FOR THIS CRAP ANYMORE!!!!! It felt so good.

This article is not reported as light hearted fun, it is condescending, insulting and self righteous in tone. Designed to cater to the moral majority wowsers that clog talk back radio. Everything that stopped me getting the Hun home delivered is on display in that story. But reading the online comments, as well as being generally hilarious, shows that people have tired of this barrow the Hun has been pushing about the Blues.

The Hun are really changing the way they report AFL, reporting on end of season trips and trawling Facebook for stories. The only difference between the Hun and New Idea is that New Idea admits its a gossip mag.

I would expect that AFL clubs will shut the media out even more in the future. Its appears the rugby league aligned News Ltd publications have an edict to write negative AFL stories. No wonder the Spew over reacted like he did about the Christmas cruise.

I would say I am amazed at how low the Hun have stooped, but recent experience shows they will probably stoop even lower if they think it will sell a few papers.

You're right budzy; that's a given.

But the damage is done (albeit no one has been charged), and we are in damage control. The club needs to do all it can to stop the unfair bad coverage we are receiving atm especially from the HUN. It's obvious that the HUN has some sort of vendetta and I wonder why. There's more to it than just selling papers. Papers will sell whether there's good or bad coverage of the Blues.

The HUN is not supporting the game that feeds them with this obvious attack on CFC.

The Hun couldn't give a ratts tossbag about CFC other than they know that everyone likes to read negative stories on Carlton so it sells... $$$

No CFC knucklehead moments = no negative Hun stories

Hopefully we can use this as an "Us versus Them" siege mentallity for 2010.

It is clear tha there is an agenda against us, so lets use it

Also shows the quality of this so-called "newspaper" that this story is deemed to be more important (page 3)than the tragedy in Haiti (page 4)..

Durwayne Russell went with this as his 'editorial' on AW last night, seriously trying to suggest that this reinforces our poor drinking culutre at the club and throughout the league. Even opposition supporters I speak with are scratching there heads at how this made news.

If you drink you get named and shamed but get caught taking drugs and it's all hush hush. Perhaps our players should become junkies instead, that way the AFL would protect them.

Where was the page 3 headlines when Renouf burnt himself after being 'bumped' into a beach camp fire?? He's a repeat offender but we barely hear about it.
