Police pay compensation money as a result and a confidentiality clause is signed
Woman also meets with President of club and is alledgedly paid money.
That should be the end of it
But................................well someone then opens his mouth.
If somebody had have acted like this in the George W Bush regime though would you think it was right Bluemark? You'd be in there yelling and screaming from the rafters. And I don't say that as a way of making a point of you per se - more as a point of saying that we can all be blinded to institutions we love.
I think you are misinterperting what I wrote Molly. I do not condone what may have happened at all. There is no doubt that the case was inappropriatly handled by both the Police and the Club at the time. That is why compensation was paid to the compliantant.
But the reality is this. The case would be almost impossible to prove in court. It will come down to "He said, she said" given that there were drugs involved and that she had already had consensual sex with one player, she will struggle to convince a jury of her claims. The other player will either deny anything happened and given the lack of DNA proof otherwise will be hard to prove or he will say she consented and only later saw an oppotunity to make some 'quick' money. Her profession at the time unfortunatly will not help her cause. And I can guarantee the defence would drag up witnesses who will call her character into question. If I was her lawyer I would be advising her to take the moeny and run. Is it fair No, is it justice No, is it right No. But thats what i would be advising her. And hopefully if something similar happens again within the club I hope the Police would investigate fully and that the club would not cover it up.
