Has anyone considered The Filth losing their last 2 games?

Correct.

I rather play Bummers then Hawks in the first final. Hawks are capable of improving... a lot actually.

If Essendon* beats Fremantle today, the equation is simple.

In the last round:

**If we beat Adelaide, we will finish 5th and face Essendon*.

**If we lose to Adelaide, they will leapfrog us and we will finish 6th or 7th - either way we will play Brisbane.

Then the only deciding factor in us getting a home final or not is weather or not Brisbane knock off Sydney.

If they lose, we get a home final. Otherwise it's the Gabba.

If Freo however upset's Essendon*, it'll be the winner of the last game between them and Hawks to decide who finishes 8th.

Like I said though, if Essendon* win's tonight - it'll be either them or Brisbane in the first round of the finals...

Should just delete all the other posts and leave mine.

'Cos that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

I dunno. I think I'd prefer Essendon* over the Hawks.

Tipped Freo to win though.

I'd prefer the hawks to still be alive next week though - want to see them & the bombers belt the hell out of each other.

I'm not enthused about meeting the hawks in september either, but the scum thrive on causing us misery, and always seem to find a way. So yes, the defending premiers are the lesser of two evils here.

I'd rather the Dons than the Hawks. No one's actually hunted Essendon* when they've played them save for Collingwood. They will get pantsed.

Having said that, I'm still looking for a 20 goal win next week from Port, and of course go Hawks. 8)

I know the mods might ban me for suggesting that there might be something good about Essendon* making the finals but hear me out.

Since the introduction of the final 8, Carlton's 1995 team is the only team to have completed a season, both home and away and finals, without losing to a fellow finalist. Indeed we played 5 of the finalist twice that year, meaning that post GF we had played 15 games against fellow finalists and won the lot. If Essendon* make the finals, then the Saints can't challenge that record.

In fact I think we are one of only two teams in history (Essendon* 1962 being the other) to have won every game in the season against fellow finalists (Collingwood's unbeaten 1929 team lost a final).

Didn't think about that... like that line of thinking.

Anyway, all over red rover - Essendon* has a quarter and a half to catch up 8 goals.

I admit after today I'm warming to the idea of playing them ;)

Although I am all for another 'line in the sand' game next week between them and the hawks

You bloody little beauties Fremantle.

Essendon* Vs Hawthorn blood bath next week. Hawthorn by 43 points for mine, but hopefully Essendon* goes down swinging.

Fancy beating an undefeated team in round 20 only to lose to the second bottom team the following week. Hahahaha.

So, 3 scenarios as I see it (barring draws):

1.
Blues beat Crows: we play Hawks or Bummers

2.
Crows beat Blues
Lions beat Sydney

We play Lions in Brisbanus

3.
Crows beat Blues
Sydney beat Lions

We play Lions in Melbourne

What's your preference?

Stoked we've avoided an Adelaide final.

Preferences
1) Brisbane at MCG
2) Brisbane at Gabba
3) Essendon* at MCG
4) Hawthorn at MCG

(would've preferred Hawthorn before today, but with how Essendon* played today and their growing injury list, they'd be my preference)

You forgot to add what might happen if we draw with the Crows ;)

efa.

dont forget, hawks have no backline, one forward and no confidence. we would smash them.

brisbane at the gabba would be difficult.
