Betts has steadily dropped off after a fantastic start. If he was playing in a top team he would have been dropped at some stage during the year.

Dunno, could be. His magic ability to make something out of nothing and win contests in the air and at ground level has dropped off big time. He isn't making quite as many contests either.

..still very good at ground level, marking has dropped off a little, cos our mids have reverted to kicking the ball to his dis-advantage far too often.. ..when he doesn't kick goals, he either assists or helps lock the ball in the F50.. ..and when he's put in the middle for a cameo stint, he has an immediate impact.. ..victim of poor fwd structure/set-up i think..

I've also noticed that Murphy's high marking hasn't been as good since Smorgo left.

Seriously, though, while I have been critical of Murph when we're not playing our best, one thing he has done, which is a great string to his bow, is to improve his goal kicking and on top of that he is now able to create more scoring opportunities.
