Should see Sammy get a run next week. Hammer is being carried.

Hammer was good at the ruck contests, which is his primary role. Anything he can do beyond that is typically more than Jacobs can do.

I'd love to see a kicking comp between Karmichael Hunt and Hammer

At least Sammy knows to handball only

yeah sweet victory when we needed it but, the roos are tanking and we just got over the line. not so flash in my opinion.

i love the blues but i think we have some of the worst foot skills you will come across in the afl.

They are crap. Now they have lost nine in a row. We served up number nine and they have to take it. Swallow.

There is absolutely zero chance that north were tanking. They wanted to win badly, and nearly did. They are just not good enough.

I just saw the poster from Jones. Was definately a goal until Crocker took the remote control and moved the stick right.

A win is a win is a win.

It is about time we had a bit of arse where a team against us couldn't kick straight.

I can't remember that happening to us for years. Its usually the likes of Davis, Didak & Milne kicking goals out of their arses.

I think next week we need a little bit of list management. Judd is not fit & should be rested against the Cats be ready for a full tilt against Port.

I also believe that players such as Joseph, Kreuzer & Betts are getting tired

If the alternative is to win last Friday against the Filth, then I don't agree.

Good game by two evenly matched teams.
Them wanting it badly to send of a club champion.
Us wanting it to try for the finals.

Pretty even game. THought fevs kicking let us down a couple of times when we had momentum and their kicking was crap in the last.

Great to get a win over these turkeys. I have never liked them and have felt ill for the last 5 years not beating them. Shame the junk yard dog wasnt still at the helm.

Go blues ! I think the results of the last month are a true indication of where we are at.

Enjoy the ride guys.

i think that you are being very unfair here.... a great team player who has 2 premiership medals - not many players who are not any good play 50 games let alone 300+ - many ahead of him in the 'line of hatred'.....there's nothing wrong with having respect for your enemies.

So glad we beat these idiots, by however means necessary. They are a bunch of pretenders who so happens to fluke their way each week. As much as they kicked heaps of points in the last, we missed many goals from 30 metres out and gave up plenty of goals by stupid kick ins.

Can we all agree that was the worst umpired game of the season?

See I don't understand this reaction, similar to Russell.

Both players have returned from being dropped. And played better games.

That to me vindicates the decision to drop them, and proves that the 'everyone who wrote them off' crowd were right.

We need to get to a point where every player knows that they are not untouchable. That regardless of who is pressing for selection at the 'Ants, sub standard, weak as piss efforts by any player will not be tolerated.

Also, thought Hadley was a really good inclusion tonight.

I think he's suffered a bit from going it alone in the 'protection' role.

You watch Hadley, and he knows what he's doing around stoppages better than anyone, Judd excluded.

He knows what he needs to do first, second and third. He knows how to block. He knows how to get in and get the pill. It just seems a natural thing for him and I guess after playing in a midfield behind Voss, Black, Lappin & Aker you learn what you have to do for your team mates to be successful.

I still think he's a hugely valuable player to our team and we need the stuff he does to rub off on a few of our other blokes too.

I'm no expert but he looks like a guy who is such a no nonsense player than having him yo-yo'ing between the 1s and 2s hurts not only his game but the effectiveness of guys like Gibbs. Without going back in detail, anecdotally at least I'd suggest that Gibbs best games this year have been when Hadley played. Tonight one of those.

Hope with stick with Hadley in our midfield. And not expect him to be something he's not.

i was rapt with the intensity and endeavour of our boys tonight but for whatever reason we didn't really put the roos away like we should have, especially given simpson had a torn calf the whole game, harding went off injured and greenwood likewise.

obviously judd is not anywhere near full fitness and that may be why we struggled and anytime fev kicks 3.4 we're going to struggle as well.

we're blessed to have an absolute freak in gibbs (who i thought was clearly best on tonight), a star in murphy and a workhorse in kreuzer (who needs to gain a lot mroe strength over the next few seasons). i thought tonight hadley, simpson and stevens were all very impressive as well.

apart from that, as is the case most weeks, we struggled. mark austin shows signs that he could be a really good defender but like kreuzer needs a lot of work on his strength. betts needs to find more consistency. setant struggled but that is to be expected given the setback he's had. hampson done some nice things in the ruck occasionally. robinson and armfield should not play afl again this year. i think we have the nucleus of what could be a challenger in 3-4 years time but we need to find a good young key position forward. i don't thikn we're as good as most supporters expect us to be at the moment. a lot of our players are still very underdeveloped and raw.
