yay we won but that was a shit performance

people coming in and trying to point out others mistakes are just as bad as the people who made them in the first place

lets all be happy with the win

but gee some strong questions need to be asked

I'm not disagreeing with you, but which are the questions you think need to be asked?

I'm disappointed that we drift in and out of games and are either on or we're bad, there's no middle ground. I'm not sure how much of that is due to youth and inexperience.

im not gonna keep going over it

our coaching panel needs questioning on setups and tactics, skills training , selections also

our players need questioning over mental application , desire and hunger

Who kk?

Having not seen the match, but relied on reports from here, I can't say specifically, but there doesn't appear to be the "work for your brothers" ethic that there is in the better teams. Or even Essendon*.

That's a whole team issue, from the coach down, IMO. By that, I mean it's an issue which can be addressed by all in the team, not a few individuals.

didnt see the game, listened to the first half on the radio, didnt sound promising.

glad to hear all the positive feedback about JR, i havent been a fan, but am proud he could turn it around, sounds like he kept us in the game in the second qtr.

but i have a couple of q's -

how did bentley go (not trolling, genuinely interested)?

how was fev's body language? was it improved or much of the same?

saw ratten's bake on the news, was pleasing to see

how did austin recover after giving away the 50?

how did hammer go against sandi in the second half?

once again, not trying to provoke, am truly interested in hearing about these players

many thanks

bender

pretty poor - used his big body well a couple of times but overall rather poor

improved body language - had a go

how did austin recover after giving away the 50?

pretty well , tried to kill a few team mates late in the game with shocking handballs - but plenty of promise with austin

how did hammer go against sandi in the second half?

pretty well , sandilands didnt dominate the game

once again, not trying to provoke, am truly interested in hearing about these players

many thanks

Gibbsy and JR provided the highlight for me with their leadership in the 2nd qtr. Great to see!

Realistically though we've got a long long way to go with our general play before we challenge for a pennant.

Well, I'm very glad that we got the 4 points and by the effort shown in the last quarter. We are still in the hunt for a finals spot. Now we have another game next weekend that we 'should' win. Hopefully we do. It'd be great to see us knocking off the teams below us consistently.

Howerver, the first three quarters didn't fill me with confidence for our chances. I'm hoping we build on this and can improve, but hope we are taking the steps to ensure we do.

But, boy oh boy, I'm happy we beat the shockers.

Glad with the win, but why do we start so poorly at times? Those frees we gave away in the first qrt were terrible.
Gibbs was great, so was Judd. Russell had a great first half. Kreuzer held his own against a giant.
Our poor kicking at goal has to addressed as nearly cost us another game, good finish but should have won by alot more.
Armfield and Bently made too many errors as did Austin, Houlihan struggled, Fisher did too.
A win is a win but we have to back it up next week against an improving Richmond.
At least the jumpers will be worth a bit more now.

Very happy we won that type of free running style of game. Plenty of handpasses after marks etc... great style of game to win.

Glad to see Gibbsy kick a few goals - his goals are REAL team lifters.

Glad to see Fev. play a team game and kick a few.

Glad to see Judd be Judd.

Glad to see Sentanta be another forward option.

There are a lot of positives out of this game.

Im stoked lets face it - with this win we should make the finals - we won another interstate - didnt look good at quarter time but we fought back from 5 goals behind - got to be happy -still need to improve but a win is good - back in the 8 - made a statement by dropping a couple of senior players - fev only kicked 3 and we won - won without Waite walker warnock bower

This was a must win game, and to the boys credit they won it, even after making it super hard for themselves. Sadly though I think if we were playing any other side and started like that the outcome would have been different. I feel like we really dodged a bullet today. JUDDs chasing and tackling in the last quarter, immense. Bring on Ninthmond next week.

Any JR bashers around? One of the few who put his hand up early on. I'd like to see many of you knockers pay due respect to a kid who gives his all the majority of the time he plays. One of our best today.

Well done JR. Proud you are a true blue

Played well.

What you're suggesting is fair enough for the down the line "Russell is shit" crew. But the "Drop Russell" crowd have, I reckon been vindicated.

Reckon it reinforces the opinion that he should have been dropped weeks ago, rather than quash it. Played with greater hunger and confidence than he has before.

Now can string a few together hopefully.

yes we beat 15th by 15 points in Perth - 2 weeks ago Geelong beat them by 22 points in Perth

I would take a win in Perth by 15 points -every day of the week after the last 5 years - perhaps Im easily pleased :smoking:

Dont understand negativity here tonight - I was as annoyed as any one last week - but they were under severe pressure and won - were as much as 36 points behind and won - got back in the 8

Agreed. In reality, we'll struggle to not play finals with our run home. But losing today would have been the thin end of the wedge IMO. Under the circumstances, a good win.

Now we need to cement it with another thumping win over the tabby cats.

I'm not being 'negative'... I'm rapt with the win and the way we fought back. Kick better and we win this game by 5 goals.

What I'm proud of is we did it with a young team, on a big road trip, when we had to win.

But we did only beat 15th. Yknow.
