Well it would fit the pattern.

Have no problem with what Wallsy wrote, just glad he is not caning our opposition like he has in the past and they have then come out and pasted us.

Coaching staff do use media articles like Wallsy's for motivation so lets hope the players are aware of it.

As for Bret Thornton down forward, it's not a silly idea at all.. I've been going to enough training sessions to see that Thornton takes his goalkicking practice very seriously. Sometimes a bit too seriously for his teammates, who only see him as a defender.

As you know Doc I have been saying for a long time he is a forward. Played there as a kid and is better suited to the position.

You beauty, it had to be said.

His reference to the "praise" Fev gets for doing the "givens" of AFL, i.e. chasing and tackling, was so flowering on the money.

It has been curious hasn't it. We are trying to make the forwardline not so much about the Fev and then at times make the post match all about the Fev playing a team role :screwy:

If I were the coach, I'd make sure they read it.

He can be a better defender...if he grasped the modern game a bit better - Austin and Kreuzer are natural forwards who if developed properly will be very effective.

With Waite going down T-bird is going to have to play his role made famous by Luke Hodge.

A reasonable assessment by Walls

Both players and coaches need to improve. I believe many will and I don't just mean tonight

Liked the article. Spot on IMO.

I think the clubs biggest problem, is helping Judd. They need to ensure someone sacrifices their game, and takes out Judd's tagger every week. Tag the tagger.

The blokes best suited to this job are AJ, JR, Banno and Armfield. Why not give JR a crack......we know his skills are crap, but he is fast, has a biggish body and can run all day. And at least we'll know if he beat his man.....

Using Russell as a chop out isn't such a bad idea.

But you can't just use someone for the role and have the problem solved! That person needs to be able to do that job and have the instincts to take somene out if necessary.....can't see JR doing that.

What some, including Walls don't see is the frightening statistic that reads there are 27 players on the Carlton list who fall under the 'development' umbrella. Whether that number is too large, whether it could have been avoided due to personnel on the list or recruiting methodology is perhaps just as pertinent a question as to asking when will Carlton arrive?

Having 27 players under the development umbrella?...is that too many for a rookie coach? or are our assistants struggling with their roles?

Just to clarify BB CJ was actually three people on the same address. That's why I have gone on my own.

Obvious answer!

CJ69 = co-joined 69. Work it out.

Unless I'm mistaken you only need two people to make 69.
Setanta should be full back cos he wouldnt have to worry about the game all around him.
Just ahead of him....
That's a great call Synners - keep it simple for him and he can just get in and crash packs and let our smalls sort out the rest!

We have been getting the ball out of defence a bit better this year, so this may work!

I hope so too after the reverse happened with the James Hird article

Just thought I'd say thanks to those who caused the 'talking players' forum to be shut down.

Wallsey's fault.
