Still no Edwards. Very disappointing.

can anyone enlighten me as to why robinson was left out? As this is meant to be a full dress rehearsal it suggests he wont be in the team fo r round 1...

Try and look at it philosophically, Doni.

there has been nothing mentioned about any injuries or anything at training but he did go off against the hawks at one stage looking a bit sore

either that or he is competeing for a place with Yarren and they wanted to have a better look at Yarren

Or they could be monitoring young players to assist with development

appart from that wouldn't have clue

Not necessarily although he does not have to play round one to be in the Blues short-term planning.

It is a great squad and perhaps they will have a problem filling everyone they want to have a look at into the final side as it is. Perhaps they will go tall as I can imagine them having to make a few difficult decisions in regards to our ruck and key defensive spots.

All i ask for in this game is NO injuries. That's all, any help from above would be greatly appreciated. Anything else positive is a bonus.

Maybe he can't sit still in a plane for 3 1/2 hours!

Maybe he's got the Dennis Bergkamp condition. Hence why when called by the recruiters after his drafting he was that keen to get over here he'd row across in a boat.

I think i'm onto something here :smoking:

As I'm sure a few other tragics here are prone to I occasionally have a pre-game dream. Why my head would even be bothered with this one I have no idea.

Anyway- Last night I dreamt there was some drama with Carlton's bus arriving late at Bunbury, then the game was so even that we were locked on 88pts each with seconds to go and Freo kicked a goal to seal it.

Just on Robbo, could it be that they are holding back his unrestrained and potentially injurious enthusiasm for round one so that should the worse happen he'll at least take out a few Tigers with him?

I mean who gives a @#$%&! about Freo and a practice match anyway?

Mitch is a 'what you see is what you get' character, and I reckon that he's the same at training, in a practice match, in the real thing. So the match committee probably already know what they've got with him, and would learn much more about some of the other young players on the list this week.

And yeah, I suspect the prospect of putting him on a plane for 3 1/2 hours wouldn't have done his chances any good either

Maybe I'm wrong but perhaps Ratts is a bit old school and wants the young blokes to earn their stripes a bit first.
I think he's definitely a 'form warrants selection' type of coach so if Robbos and Yarrans form in the early part of the season warrants selection it won't be long before they are selected.

Having just moved to Perth, am going along to have a look. Taking the wife and kids so probably wont get to pay much attention to the plays and players but wil be son's first Blues game so I'm excited! Blues easily with that lineup.
