Team selection - more than ever - will be important in 2009. No more "untouchable" selections for certain players eg Russell, Wiggins etc and we should make the finals in 2009.

What started out as a reasonable post lost all credibility with that.
If Wiggo is an untouchable selection, why didn't he play in Rd 22. he was available. Why didnt he play all those weeks he was playing in the Ants?

Sometimes people let their personal vendettas against certain players cloud their logic.

The amount and intensity of the criiticism we cop as a club is usually related to how well we are going on the ladder.

For the last couple of years it's been quiet, notwithstanding what Roos just said, or Collingwood whingeing last year about not getting Judd, or Malthouse griping whenever we beat them.

So, in the grand scheme of things it's no big deal. However, expect the noise to get louder in 2009 and 2010. (That's not to say we don't have list problems we need to fix).

Lovely guy - don't get me wrong, but we need forwards who can kick goals and regularly.

Wiggins - round 12 to 16 -
1 goal vs Collingwood
0 goals vs Essendon*
1 goal vs Richmond
0 goals vs St Kilda
0 goals vs Sydney

He tries his heart out and deserves his spot on form, but when his form dips then he should be considered for the Magoos like any other player.

In the early 80's - Harmes, Marcou, Sheldon and other legends of the club were dropped from time to time. I see no reason why Wiggins and Russell cannot be dropped if their form drops over a prolonged 4-5 week period.
