Not a fan of Mark Fine but you would have to think that Swann and Pratt would be looking at whose around at the end of Rattens contract amongst the big name coaches...
I like Brett Ratten who coaches like he played with integrity and honesty but have always felt he has been appointed as a caretaker during the initial rebuilding period and would have to get some seriously good results to keep the job longterm...hope he does..
Fair post here but i certainly believe that Ratten has all the creditentials to be a premiership coach at AFL level. I am not saying not to investigate prospective coaches but as long as there is steady improvement within the next 2 seasons, he should remain at the helm until that improvement diminishes to a point where our progression has stalled IMO.
He's work ethic has been flawless, whilst sending a positive message to his players, and keeping his composure in the box and making moves that need to be made. It's bloody good to have a champion clubman at the helm yet i think that his coaching capabilities should be distinguished from this.
Another test for Ratts will come at season's end when the call is made on Houlihan and Thornton, who in my optinion don't bleed for the club and should be traded/ delisted for players with more hardness and desire IMHO.
