Put Walker on the ball, Russell on a wing and Bentick on a half back flank. And if Carrazzo is fit he should go to the back pocket.

We keep hearing that we have the youngest list, but in reality our average on-field age is around 24.

Lets see what our younger players can do. If there is one criticism I will make of Dennis is his loyalty to some players. They've had 7 games some of them.

Walker is only 18

Your Balls ( :D ), Judds, Hodges, Dal Santos etc are early 20s

Walks has a few years yet - he is already showing more than at least half our list and his kicking is improving.

Bentick isn't quick enough for a back flank and as bad it sounds I'd rather see Clarke or Russell come in with their pace. Russell may not be ready for AFL footy but he isn't skinnier than Tambling,Meyer or Simpson who all played on Saturday. His height and pace will be needed to match up on Geelong's tall quicks. At least Clarke might get a chance to get stuck into his old teammates!

Clarke definately has to come in this week - has busted his ass in the VFL and will want to stick it up Geelong.

Is David related to Tim from Hawthorn ??

If David could be given a chance and could show about half of what Tim Clarke continues to show for the Hawks - we couldn't be worse off than what we are right now.

Walker will be as good as Cooney. Cooney plays onball in a team that plays a high possession game. Walker is playing as a tagger in a low possession team. What do you think the result should be Walker should be getting as much of the ball as Cooney or kicking 5 goals a week? Walker is going fine and when the shackles are released we will see more of his debut type games. Like Elwood said love to see him on a wing and be the target not just for kick outs but for the ball going through the centre.

It was also interesting to read someone said that Hodge was only just starting to come good! Well no he was always good its the fact that now he is getting a chance to play in the midfield. Yes we all know how good Judd is but would he be rated as highly if like Hodge he had to play on a HBF and follow an opponent around? Hodge has done his job as a HBF and now with a chance to play in the midfield he is showing what he can do. To me Hodge will be the next Michael Voss in that he not only goes hard at the ball but will start intimidating the opposition and controling games he is also already in the top 10 kicks in the AFL.
Its all about opportunity and the role you get to play.

I agree with Scott on Hodge....Judd was a hard act to follow and Hodge doesnt have all the frills, bells and whistles like Judd but he is an old fashioned footballer who will get better and I always rated him...like Luke Ball gives good leadership and as far as I an concerend Hodge is the leader at Hawthorn which says something about him....

I agree also with Scott on opportunity...put Cooney in our team and he wouldnt be so flash ditto for a few others....Walker has no leadership to help him much and has been used as a trouble shooter on some fairly talented players....all at 18....

The thing i like about walker is he already has an afl body - he has developed hugely over the last 12 months in that respects, and by the time he stops developing, he will have a physical presence which is exactly what we need.

I think walker will be fine - he aint gonna carry us this year - but in 2 years, he will start doing so.
