Kade Simpson was good..he uses the ball well and has composure in heavy traffic...he should remain in the team for the rest of the year.

Sentanta.....very raw but kicked his first goal and showed he has possibilities.

French after half time battled well...has no support..
Chris Bryan has to be played and given a chance..we need options....and not just for a game ..for several weeks and given a chance to show something.

Forget this game..it was reality check and that is a positive....nothing like a heavy loss to get things into perspective and weed out the players who are not good enough.....

so who isn't good enough. Name names!

I'll start - Johnno - love his efforts but no pace and no skills just hurts us too much.

Positives: Wallsy wont be writing about a Geelong player this week
because surely it will be on Carlton.

The Media spotlight wont be on the team we're playing because it WILL BE ON US

Hey it makes for a change doesn't it??

The positive for mine is that it gives Denis the carte blanche to put a broom through and play some guys with determination next week.

Gives us the rocket right up our arses that we needed to shift any complacency after the WC win....although what we actually have to be complacent over beats me.

This will put the fear of God himself into some of the Skiiers.

The bar we found allowed us to drink more in the third quarter, even though it was actually closed.

They kept the tv on for us, in case we decided to come back.

The beer was cold.

The bar we were in was warm.

Setanta kicked a goal.

We didn't lose by 100 points.

It's not so painful that we didn't get Wells & Goddard because of Deledio.

I got my membership hat today.

It wasn't such a bad day after all. :? :( :(

1. Waite continues to impress,
2. Skinny has regained his touch as a small forward, and is now kicking straight. Yes, he did so in junk time, but still that's better than nothing.
3. Won the last quarter, and the saying goes that you start the next game in the way you finish.
4. Santy made his debut, took a contested mark inside 50 and kicked well for a goal. With the debut out the way, he should improve rapidly.
5. We have a recent history of vicious rebounds from hidings. The humiliation of such losses seems to do more for us than a fighting loss.
6. We will get back Fev, and hopefully he will be driven to performing well to make it up to his teammates who didn't need him to go missing when he did.
7. Simmo did well enough to buy him more games in the seniors. He is starting to be a contributor.
8. Thornton gained further match fitness, and we are one game closer to Livo's return.

Oh, and the timing of this loss and the inevitable reactions is brilliant. After all, we laugh at the Tigers for their tendency to eat their own when the going gets tough. It seems that many of our supporters are no better.

Exactly!! People who have nothing good to say should wait a couple of days to give their thoughts, it really is a bit sad

it goes like this.

i lead with

"ALL HAIL O'HALPHIN"

"HAIL"

i actually have a real positive

Thorton

i love this kid

we had our asses handed to us on a plate today by richmond, but thorton, he was great.

He was furious everytime everyone [REDACTED] up, he was furious at himself, he was furious at anyone that made a stupid error.

he was the shining light for me today (besides santy)

forget kouta as captain, and forget stevens as captain.

Bret Thorton has to and deserves to be our next captain.

didnt see that, but if thats the case then fine.

Stevens as Captain (i tend to think that captains should be onballers) and Thorton as Vice Captain.

Kouta, god love him, just isnt captain material.

Thats the one thing I've always loved about him, hate's getting beaten, he's so angry. What i didn't like was when Richo took that mark in the last quarter and he showed his frustration, a couple of the Richmond players gave him a hard time and NONE of his teammate's backed him up

But Bret, Bret hate's being beaten, its a great example to set

They let everyone run onto the G at the end of the game. Can't remember that happening for a while.

We didn't get any injuries.

My love for the Carlton Football Club hasn't diminished.

another positive.

the reaction of people around me when i start to yell.

i truly am a loud bastard. :D

this poor old codger in front of me near had a heart attack in the first quarter.

the best thing though - im never negative unless im giving it to the ref or the other team - but gee, i can be a funny bastard as well, had half of the richmond fans around us in tears, if i do so say myself :D

I wasn't the only enjoying a pleasant Autumn walk up Wellington Parade towards the city at around 4.15pm today - who should pass us by was Justin Davies and David Clarke - seems like they didn't want to see what was on offer at the MCG after 3/4 time either.
