Pros:

We played with about two thirds of a team and only lost by 77.

Not in our long-term plans:

Ackland (hack)
Wiggins (battler)
Saddington (how he was played at Subi is beyond me, gawn)
Bannister (see Wiggins)
Houlihan (scared)
Russell (see Houlihan)
Lappin

Still plenty of holes to fill.

Pros
Murphy, Simpson, Carazzo & Hartlet played well
Gibbs did a few good things
Pagan will surely be gone now.

Cons
Ackland - need i say more
Gibbs against Wizz - wasnt there anyone else
FEV - showed why he will NEVER be Capitan

Pros:

Hartlett showed a bit today.
Waite finished the game strongly despite being beaten early.
Carrazzo continued his great form.
Solid games from Murph and Simmo.

Cons:

We really missed Walker's run today.

Pro:

Hartlett finally got a game - how it took this long for him to make the team is beyond me. (I know he played one game on the bench before this one)

positive number 2 - Hartlett will not be dropped to make way for some recycled hack recruit.

Positive number 3 -

Surely this match proves - along with the 10 matches beforehand - that Bryce Gibbs shouldn't be playing exclusively in the back pocket.
I can't remember Marc Murphy playing every match in the back pocket in his first year - why does Gibbs have to?

So that he can give a 2 metre handpass off to someone running by... yep.. that is really using his kicking skills well.

Too numerous to mention. We need to start considering Fev for trade bait - on his day he is fantastic but too often he doesn't contribute.

A bit harsh on Fev. He didn't get too many opportunities. He needs space to lead into and he needs some decent passes. Once he has those two factors going for him he can kick a bag.

I actually wouldn't blame him looking for greener pastures, though, as this club is a rabble. Six years of floggings is difficult to take.

Bloody disappointing!

Pros

We got our hands on the ball first
We got into our F50 aplenty

Bentick....I can see why we need him in the crunches
Carrazzo..thank god he's in form
Murphy...great effort and poise
Setanta...pity we didn't have 3 of him (bring on Aisake)
Waite.....he's got to be our forward
Hartlett..limited opportunities, but looked like he belongs. He stays in the team at CHF.
Simmo...great runner and gutsy efforts

Cons

Ackland...lost, uncompetitive, no where to be seen
Saddo.....gawn...can't run (anyone convinced otherwise now?)
Pagan....what a waste having Gibbs in a BP.
Lost...Wiggins, Bannister, Russell, Lappin, Houla, Fish, Fev, Scotland
Pagan

No pace, couldn't break the lines, no rucks...bloody awful.

Harsh? I think not! His current behaviour only contributes to our "rabble" satus.

Just a boy in a man's .body

We have had 1697 points scored against us this year. Average of 130.5 points per game.

Surely would have to be an AFL/VFL record :?:

And Denis says he aint going to flood :!:

- There are too many nerds in our team, they are too soft, some of them gets pushed off way too easily.
- Too many players gave up, they've learned something from Campo - pretending to chase hard and falls so they don't have to chase anymore.
- Fevola, he still needs to grow up after so many years. When things goes wrong he is a big sook.
- Scotland, he is not a defender. i know we are desperate for defenders but he is just hopeless in the backline.
- Houlihan, This family of Houlihans are not AFL material, none of them made it to become an elite player and their last hope Ryan will certainly not.

KoRn, I would be quite interested to see a list of our players from our current list who are nerds and are too soft.

Why is it we need 2 guys to tackle one of theirs.

They then run away as the loose player takes the ball while 2 of ours end up rolling around on the ground being held back by one of theirs
Bigger bodies i know..... but
ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are not far off Fitzroy of 1996, in fact we may of passed this round.

Rushing Eddie straight back into the one's after such a long lay-off.
The guy looked way out of touch

Yet he had 7 possesions in the first quarter...

Dissappointed with Fev, but our team murders him with their delivery! Instead of talking about dropping Fev i think it would be wiser to drop Pagan!

Fev is just really out of form thats all! We need to support our talented players and build talent stocks even greater, Fev is important to our future.. Right now, though he must be sick and tired of the teams efforts..

He's had to compromise his game for a while and its started to place him out of form..

I really want a Voss to come in and Coach the side... I'm flower sick and tired of Pagan..

PROs:
- Thats the last time i'll ever have to watch a Carlton loss in a smokey pub in Melbourne
- Hartlett showed a lot in my view, leading up the guts and trying to throw his body around
- Murphy and Carrazzo are gems and its just a joy to watch them out there. Unlike many of our other 'good' players, these guys are good even against the odds.

CONs:
- As a follow on from the third point above, too many of our supposedly senior players go missing when the heat is on.
- We seem unable to work out that opposition clubs just sort the ball out at half back and are setting up their forward entry there and then. This is where we need to get it fixed up.
- We had no other option when our twin marking half forwards of Waite and Fish were beaten. These 2 have had great years and the only other forward to put his hand up when those 2 were covered was Hartlett.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Wiggins as a pro yet.
His attack, ferocity and willingness to throw his body around was fantastic (particularly in the first half).

I like Wiggins he has a real crack.
Pity some other players cant follow his lead. He should be captain for one those rounds. At least he will lead from the front.

Wiggo should have had the job on Famer, at least he would have roughed him up a bit..

Just saw this game for the first time.

Cons:
Freo kicking a stack of goals out of their backside.
Our inability to prevent their run out of defence.
Our inability to prevent high scores being kicked against us.

Pros:
We got pantsed, but it looked like the 'effort' continued till the end. Good to kick a few goals in the last quarter.
Simpson, Carrazzo, Houlihan, Murphy.
Setanta and Gibbs continue to impress.
Hartlett and Young showed some good signs.
Waite kept working, and got some scoreboard reward at the end.
