Check out the Kennedy thread for my two cents. Still needs to go back to the reserves and re-jig his role for the team there before returning. Needs to fill out his legs and arms too.

And in support of young Jim, look who is shoving it down Riewoldt's throat from the centre square. I'm sure Kennedy would get a mark and kick if his leads were respected and the passes were quality.

Cheers WBY, another thing that comes to mind was that Riewoldt originally starred in a role across the back line, playing as a loose Rivers-type and following the flight.

4 years on, everything's gone a bit south for Nick overall.

I still reckon a couple of weeks in the magoos will do him the world of good.

He's a 2nd year kpp for christs sake - he's not going to magically become Royce Hart overnight.

A couple of weeks in the ressies where he can dominate and get some touch back will do him the world of good IMO.

....and that's what I meant but didn't say....he's a big lump of a kid who will take time.

Funny you mentioned Royce Hart mate.....he was only 6'1"....how good was he?......regularly outmarking packs.....always had front possie.

jim, are you sure it was Riewoldt that firstly spent a year in the reserves and then a year across half-back?

From memory he spent his first year injured with a knee, Kozi won the Rising Star at CHB, then kozi spent a considerable amount of time injured the next season and Riewoldt won the Rising Star playing at half forward...?

All I remember is that he only played 6 games in 2001, and thinking over it again, can't remember what kept him out.

They swung him forward and back, at the time he was earning big wraps for being a marking machine. The thing that staggers me is that he doesn't get thrown back more when he has the yips or his impact is limited up forward.

Get rid of Lance....
Bring in a coach with a better forward structure and Kennedy will blossom into the player we need.

right now were trying to get Lance into the game... Kennedy gets ignored between Fev and Lance....

He has lost confidence and is not the player he came to us as....
which means under our tutoring he has gone backwards.

Not the first player to suffer from that disease at Carlton.

Everytime I start to doubt Pagan someone comes up with a ripper like saying the reason Kennedy is down is we're trying to get Lance into the game.

Before we even debate whether this is true or not....

Surely Pagan isn't expected to sacrifice our captain and reigning B&F winner for the sake of a 19 year old who is going ok, but still is very early into his career.

Maybe Worsfold should be playing Judd in the BP to give Matt Rosa a run on the ball :garthp:

Lance was the reason why Waite was down, now he's the reason Kennedy is down....hell, the Melbourne Storm lost tonight, maybe one of you can come up with a reason to blame Lance for that too

:garthp:

Were under instructions to get Lance into the game...
Backline... ruck... forwardline....were trying to find him a spot and a niche so Pagan doesnt look like a fool.....

in the meantime people are suffering....

Time should be put into JK... with a gameplan that will suit him for our future.

What do you think we have done with JK???... he cant even hit the packs like he used to.

We should be trying to play a winning, positive brand of football, the best way possible.

How was Kennedy going when Lance was playing back and on the bench earlier in the season?

You have a A 19 yr old KP player who is a CHF.. and you push him this way that way.... to make room for a bloke who is out of sorts and dragging everyone down around him....

Youre meant to be telling the 19 yr old draftee you picked early..that you believe in him... and youre meant to be working on a gameplan to compliment him... not an over the hill has been...

Kennedy has been treated rather shabbily in my opinion.,

No doubt in my mind that Pagans bloody mindedness in trying to justify his (with others) decision of making Lance Captain has compromised & affected the onground development of some of the young players.

Riewoldt missed most of his first year with injury Jim.
Had he stayed fit, he would have been a permanent fixture in the Saints seniors as he was further advanced than Kosi.
Dont rewrite history to try to justify your view.

as for Josh, he's a different type of player playing in a different team with a different forward set up.
Give him time.

Sorry Jim.
It must be frustrating having your uninformed untruths exposed all the time.

Had I known other people were already on to your fabricated nonsense, I wouldnt have said anything.
Lets just pretend it never happened hey? 8)
