So what changed. The little bit between the ears had alot to do with it. The guys were flat. That was plain from the outset. On top of that the Cats were on fire.

CM,

You forgot point 5. We have a captain who is a major liability.

I just thought I would leave it for you and the Badman to have something to post about.

Jars there really is no point in being all negative??? Annoyed and frustrated as supporters maybe but not negative if people think about it rationally.

It is not all 'Woe is me my God as forsaken me what should I do'.

The guys were flat and got punished by a decent team that has a few guys who can play alittle.

The Blues had been up for weeks. Several times they had come back from being well beaten and that takes it's toll. Eventually they mentally slipped 20% and paid the price in a tough competition.

Geelong has a far better list than CFC currently does and look at their up and down year in 2006. The Doggies were touted as a top 4 along with Freo this year and both struggled yesterday. Mental lapses cause blowouts. All teams have them. It happens whether we like it or not.

We are just a good ordinary team at the moment and we need everything to go right 99% of the time to win games. It's just not going to happen at the moment.

Regards Cazzesman

Couldn't agree more. Now all i hope is Geelong play like that every week as i picked them for the flag!!! Cats would of flogged anyone Saturday night they were THAT good.

As for player bagging, apart from Lance and Lappin the guys are allowed one off game in 6.

The loss to Geelong was no different to the losses to Geelong over the past 3-4 years...this time the margin was even greater...that tends to hurt when the club has promised no more blow outs....supporters are reacting to that....we caught a glimpse of the bad old days and we didnt like it.

Catching Geelong on the rebound with the messiah in Hawkins debuting was probably bad timing...the win vs Richmond wasnt that impressive after a good NAB cup series so we were probably ripe for a loss....

As Jarusa said the supporters are still positive ...they just need to release a bit of steam everynow and then....

There was an article recently where Nick Stevens commented upon going out until 5.00am because we were the bottom side and it didn't really matter (or words to that effect).

What I hope has happened, is that whilst being supportive and positive, the Pratts, Ickes and Swans of the world are letting the football department know that there is too much at stake for a repeat peformance of Saturday night. Yes we will have our bad nights (as will most teams), but they must be minimised and not shrugged off as we aren't any good, this will happen. The more they are deemed to be unacceptable, the less they will happen.

We played against a team that was totally on song, and we were playing 3 men short on the night (Whitnall, Lappin and the injured Russell, I'm also not sure if Whitnalls form is helping Waite settle into the backline). I'm very much of the opinion that footy is 22 vs 22 not 18 plus 4 extras who can chip in for a little cameo. It is very instructional to look at Supercoach rankings in the Herald Sun and the number of low scores we had Sat night compared with other teams.

I can honestly say I've not had any problems coping with our shitness yet.

I only saw the 3rd & 4th quarters of the richmond game and missed the geelong game all together.

I reckon we're travelling OK.

When the same people bag the same players over and over it gets boring, it's predictable, we've heard it all before but no, we need to hear it a few more times.

Not as boring as seeing opposition coaches exploit the big red

Well I've never bagged Whitnall... but I will now!

Really not up to AFL standard at the moment for whatever reason.

If there's a repeat performance next week then the footy department would be negligent not to give him a stint in the Ants. Captain or not.

I don't doubt that Lance will get it together, but he doesn't necessarily have to be in the AFL to find some touch. In fact I thought that's precisely what the VFL was for.

Are we that good that we can afford to take a player into each match just on the hope that he'll find some form?

theres an old saying...takes one to know one
Now I say that part in jest cos first I don't know Synabad from Adam and second I am sure theres a nice bloke in there somewhere.
The thing is this..I am sick and tired of reading this crap.

We all know lance is struggling...I for one hope he comes good.. if he doesn't its a sad loss to the game of a player who was fantastic at his best....but Synbad what the hell do you want really...it seems almost personal with you..and when hes gone who will you be after next. And don't tell me about the right to opinions or dont come here if I dont like it. that would be a childish response. And honestly I am not challenging your right to voice an opinion either...just the repetitive nature of it
Give it up mate and start acting like a Carlton Supporter.
I know Collingwood people with a higher opinion of the Blues than you seem to have.

Think about it. Lance will be gone soon enough whatever but till then just get off his back.

I want Lance to be treated by the Match Committee just like everyone else.
I want Lance to know he is in a team and he has to work as hard as everyone else....

I dont want players that just cant cut it to be out there....
I dont want players that cant encourage the kids.
I dont want players that cant set the tone for their teamates out there.
I dont want players that wont climb the mountain for the club out there...
I dont want players that cannot play football out there...

I want the spots of players that wont make the commitment to the club to be taken by those that will make a commitment of preparing themselves.. sacrificing themselves and encouraging their clubmayes to strive for betterment.

Im sick of blokes around the club sponging off the club .. sponging off the members and bringing nothing but mediocrity to a club that for as long as i knew it up to a few years ago was hell bent on pride and determination and that in turn brought excellence.
The standards of this club have been dragged down by players who play for themslves and not their teamates..
By coaches who coach for themselves and not the club...
By officials and board members that were there entirely for themselves and not the club...

All these people would look at you and swear black and blue that theyre doing the best they can for the club... but theyre bullshitting.
Ive seen enough cheats to smell them a mile away..

This club has been overun by cheats at every level.. hellbent at covering their own arses for money or personal gain.. chewing off the fat of those that came before them and those that with great guile and sacrifice laid the cornerstones down for success.. and that has been eroded by the cheats and prima donnas..

You look at Beaumonts whingeing...
Or Campos bluding and the carpark incident..
Or Smorgon and Rose.."only we can save you"
Or Pagan and his endless excuses and the petty bitchfight of unprofessionalism between himself and Mitchell..
Or Elliots selfish cling to power...

I can go on and on... and its not till all these weak softcock bloodsuckers have been weeded out of the club and replaced with capable people on every level that are hellbent on improving themselves and therefore the club will we be back where we belong.

All these sorry escuses for Carlton ppersonalities that we have had to endure are an albatross around our collective necks.

When a guy who has struggled to do the work required to play the game (that is now one of the most sporting elite disciplines in the world )believes he can continue to work less hard not more hard than everyone else at the club is representing us as captain.. the club has a huge problem.. and so do we!!!

But he has been found out...!!!

Modern day football is about pace and pressure!!!

If youre not an elite athlete in todays game.. and youre not going to work bloody hard.... youre going to look like a slug out there!!!

You cant pretend anymore...

When the pretenders are all gone... and the fair dinkum people are left around the club... were going to go places...while theyre still dagging around.. we are second rate .. just like they are!!

That is a great response Synbad.

More stuff like that is what I want to see and hear. But often you dont write like that and your viewpoint seems like the things I said.
I take back my questioning of your Carlton Loyalty..in fact I apologise for it. But can you see why I said it. It didn't look like you felt that way.

Maybe I had to write what I wrote just to find out.
