After he retired, Tommy Alvin captained coached the Zebras but from memory it didn't last too long?

It makes you drool to think about the players we got from the Bendigo area.
It seemed to be an inexhaustable supply.
Unfortunately they cut ouit the team recuting areas.
Geoff Southby, Deisel Williams. The little slow fat bloke who we got eventually.
Lots more I cant remember.

Agree with all of your comments about these two....loved them both!

Peter Dean was like Peter McConville in that he could go
forward or back or tag or whatever.....it is Carlton Legend
that he always handed his guernsey to a trainer as he came off the ground....he said that "This guernsey will never be thrown on the floor"....THAT is love of the guernsey.

He is also famous for his immortal tribute to "Mots, Bernie, Desi....F&$#ing bloody beauty" after his medal
presentation following our 1987 Flag win.....
the mikes were switched off after that year!

Tommy Alvin was a gun....Doull like....no fuss....do the job....a great.

Tommy would be rapped with that. It's my life goal to be described as Doull-like!!

Peter Dean was Mister Reliable. Was always so cool under pressure in a close final quarter. Did he debut at Geelong...anyone know? I remember seeing him take a speccy there one day...could have been his first game.

How f*cking good was Tommy Alvin? Loved the guy. So typically Carlton too - a little bit different, not the pretty boy looks or the fashionable stylish type that the Hawthorns and St Kildas of this world drool over - a straight up and down, 110% giving footballer - what you see is what you get.

I wonder what TA is doing these days? I hope he's enjoying his retirement - he gove us all so many happy memories.

Tommy Alvin should be back at the club, teaching the kids how to play,he was a bit of a Rambo/Conon the Barbarian with that long hair,he had guts.

Deany also made an arse of himself at the medal presentation following the 1995 Grand Final as well - after getting his medal from Bob Davis he tried to leap over the safety rail on the dias and tripped and landed flat on his face - so he was actually Mister Reliable he was 2 for 2 on Grand Final Medal Presentations.

You're spot on with all players as far as I can tell Warby...question marks still on the players either side of Hunter. Neither of them is David Honeybun though. My guess is they were your lesser known Reserves players.
