SOS's height varied a lot over his career. Obviously he was only 17 when he started so was naturally going to keep growing. 193cm was the common height later in his career.

The thing with SOS though was that he read the play so well he was rarely not in the right position, so he always had that head start over a taller opponant. Would be a tough call to expect that from any other player.

It doesn't really solve the Lade problem you're talking about though, you're still going to be exposed playing 191-192cm player on a 199cm ruckman. We're going to have the same problem with Reiwoldt (who's a tall 193, if that makes sense), Franklin (196), Ottens, and probably half a dozen other forward/ruckman I can't think off. I don't really see this problem going way until Harlett and Setanta come through to give us those extra few inches of height to play around with.

Don't quite agree with this. I think Norman is the perfect size for these blokes and with Thornton @ CHB we have them covered. Livingston is the key to our defensive fortunes. Kid comes good and holds FB and we are away.

Then we'll agree to disagree. If a team has a 200cm centimetre ruckman resting in our forward line (and Port could probably rest 2 if they wanted to), then I don't believe 193cm Norman (much as I rate him) can cover that without holding or otherwise fouling them which you don't get away with everytime.

With Livo and T-bird up and flying like they were in the Wizard Cup I think we're a top 6-4 team. But being able to cover a 195cm+ forward in the dying mintues of a final without giving away a penalty can be the difference between top 4 and premier.

Geez, Fish gets plenty of time to practise his goal-kicking and field kicking at training, and it looked pretty good the other day so game on for Fish to dominate :)
