Dean Rice Played over 200 games of league football - missed at least 2 full years through injury could play half back or half forward. Would run straight and hard and had courage and a disregard for personal safety that makes Teague look soft by comparison

Matty Hogg also would have played somewhere around 180 games - consistently tagged the likes of Hocking, Wanganeen, Bourke, Harvey, Lamb, O'Donnell, Knights, Long, Riccardi, Stevens, Scott, West etc etc. Never ever remember him putting in a shocker

These are the guys that win you flags - they are the support for your superstars. They are team players who do the ordinary things extraordinarily well. These are the guys who Parko used to give jobs to - and rarely had to repeat his instructions.

Also Hoggy smacked Mick McGuane in the face when he first came to carlton - there should be a trophy or a perpetual award in honour of that alone.

I had a lot of time for Rice, he was a bloody champion I reckon. Hogg, probably not in the same class for mine, but not completely lost in a premiership team, he had enough go about him to be a solid contributor. If I was Carrots and was likened to those two blokes I'd be pretty chuffed just quietly.

I'm cutting Carrazzo some slack for the shoddy kicking because he gets the pill and he's a kid.

But like Marciblue, what about Evans' piss at $5.10????

I feel violated.

Our side is young, we are going to play inconsistant games whether we like it or not, just need to give it time, you watch.. our second half of the season is going to be brilliant.

We needed Carrazzo last night, he did his bit.

Kicking is something that can be improved. IIRC a young Stewie Leowe couldn't hit the side of a barn........from inside the barn.

YES!

I am sick of this guy being in the team every week. Honestly I've never been so exasperated by a player as Justin, he needs some time in the 2's

i definately was at the game and have watched the replay, and i will not go back on my comments. Yes he does find the ball but he turns it over, with shocking disposal and every bloody time he gets the ball i cringe. So many of you hang shit on clarke but he can find the ball and run so why isnt he in our side.

Where is Cammo?

He has played 4 games!!!!!!! Give the guy a F@#$%^G break.
IMO, I think he has got better disposal than Walker, Davies and Prenda. Finds the ball more than those guys. As i posted b4 he had the same amount of clangers as Kouta and had more poss than him. He had more poss than Prenda, Simmo, Morell and Sporn all put togther yet i dont see ur thread on them and its time 4 them to go.

Dean Rice was an absolute champion. I couldn't agree more with DN's comments about both these players....

Okay...........would you believe he WILL be our best performer in his last 10 games. (I was including the Harry Potter Cup in that figure so he has played 8 now I'm guessing)

IMO Carrazzo was one of the only players last week and this week to play with the same intensity as the Wiz Cup. To say that he should be dropped & even suggest that Clark should come in is absolutely ludicrous, especially considering that Clark is known for his poor disposal.

I agree with others who think that is more about poor decision making at times however we've seen that Wiggins has improved in this area so I definitely believe that Carrazzo will improve too. Oh and a little something called experience will help too. Get off his back.

7 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter is the first duff kick

BB in the words of Mark Williams after last years GF....."Your were wrong"

I have just finished watching the game on the replay. Carraz had one kick that went to the Bombers in the 3rd quarter (see above) and 1 bad decision with the last quarter kick that went towards Campo and then went out of bounds.

He kicked alot of long bombs deep into the forward 50. One Kouta marked and goaled. 1 Deluca let slip right through his fingers 25 metres out another he kicked to Lance which was 1 on 3 which was dubious but the ball spilled and Lappo kicked the goal.

All his handballs hit the target so I think you best go back to the VCR and have another close look.

IMHO it's end of discussion for this thread. There were several others i.e the one's I mentioned earlier, that were far worse offenders as far as disposal goes than Carraz.

Regards Cazzesman

Two of my all-time favourite Carlton players...I skppied pg3 of a long thread, but was glad to see someone speak so well of them

Give the guy a break. There was very little wrong with his game last night, in fact I was quite impressed.

I think he shows a hell of a lot of composure for a kid who has only played 4 games. He has confidence and backs himself in which should be encouraged.

According to the stats, Carrazzo had 15 kicks with only 3 of them being clangers. Kouta had 12 kicks and 3 clangers. Should we drop him too?

Ridiculous comment!
