I don’t think you understand what the coach’s role is in a football club

Maybe he just needs a good assistant (like Buckley or maybe Ratten)
One has done it for him before and the other seems to be doing a good job at his new home

How many players have gone over the last 3 years, and how many were that good other clubs cued up for their services.

obviously ratten is a better coach than micky having taken the duds that micky got rid of to the final 3/4 times and with a greater winning percentage

!@#$% 7 wins from a legend coach with a superior crafted list

sign him up before they knock down pp with wild record breaking offers

mickys superior crafted list after two years at the helm
micky did bring in 3 half forwards/backs that's a well crafted list by a master coach
he got rid of the duds that ratten had then coached () the rest to 7 wins last year with a innovative game, what an effort

extension pending

That’s what shows you he has reached his used by date
He’s got the same core list that ratten had and brought in some fringe players and got rid of some fringe players but his results have been lacking compared to his predecessors
A team list is always building by ever coach at any given time and malthouse is no different
A coach is there to teach and adapt to get the best out of his team not whinge and whine that the playing group isn’t good enough and needs a rebuild to justify his own short comings like he does
Time’s up we need someone willing to take charge and responsibility, that can take it to the rest of the comp that’s not selfish and puts the club first
This way everybody wins but his too pig headed and self centred to understand it and so are his disciples

or

he prefers doing it his way to your way

and

at this point the club agrees...though they may contact you soon...with this club, who knows?

and that's the real issue. Why hate MM, want him gone by all means...but in the end the club hired him, pays him, even club29's point about professionalism and his book signings...that was the club's lack not MM's.

if I land a new job and say, 'yeah but I'm not starting until after I do this,' and they agree..how am I being unprofessional?

mind you I do love the love shown to Ratts...he was a wonderful player for this club...not that that has anything to do with MM.

Look ... as I have said in the past ... Madhouse has the record on the board ... 1 premiership in 19 years ... give him another 5 years ... when he gets to 1 in 25 years, only then consider a smaller extension.

It does not matter that his game plan is outdated ... that we have gone backwards with a better list.

And Redback ... There is no point in arguing with his loyal followers.

Trust in Super Duper Tricky Micky Madhouse.

Look, Malthouse has the runs on the board. One premiership and one runner-up in 2 years. That's a great record. NO-ONE, and I mean NO-ONE even comes close in 2010-11. Chris Scott got one premiership but no runners-up. Ross Lyon got one runners-up but no premiership. So MM has the BEST record in 2010-11. So, y'all should shut up now.

I have NFI about the first two - I wasn't here. but the third? Buckley??????? What planet have you been on lately? Do you mean the same Buckley that took one of the youngest premiership teams ever, that were runners-up the following year, and lifted them to outside the eight in just three years? That Buckley? I have a feeling he may just be another one in a long line of players like Tim Watson, Royce Hart, Kevin Bartlett, Brett Ratten....... great players, but not really Coach material.

so now malty is not just a bad coach but an instigator of the use of steroids...wow...and Buckley and the reason MM won his latest flag...wow...You didn't work for the Inquisition did you? Seems you follow their way of reasoning...a woman floats - stick + witch...A woman sinks stone = witch.

I am happy for us to make the Grand Final in the next 5 seasons and be runners up  ... Madhouse is a winner. He definitely has the runs on the board in the last 20 years.

When you compare Madhouse to a modern day coach like Clarkson ... there is no comparison.

Meanwhile ... steady as she goes ... take the ball down the wings .. bomb into the forward line ... and generally don't over possess the football (because it doesn't work ... just ask Hawthorn).

I remain hopeful but realistic.

Go Blues.

Clarkson? You're kidding. Zero premierships in 4 years (2009-2012). Dud.

I had dinner with MLG the other night.
He said that it is actually Mick who is the one holding off on the contract extension.

Mick actually has a succession plan - he wants to step aside at the end of the year and let Redback coach.

MLG said he's been trying to call Redback for 3 weeks, but no return call.
Redback: He asks if you read this, please give him a ring
