Hoping he does not become Carltonised.....

Don't worry we'll have him kicking it on top of our forwards head come round 1.

What do you mean?

Bell has done everything to give himself more than a fair chance at things this year.
The guy has lost weight, he's running better and harder than ever and he has to coach praising him at every call.

Who has no idea? Malthouse?

I think he was referring to himself - Lord Lucifer - who underestimated that Bell is going to have a good year.

If ever you needed a reason to truly understand just how regal and awesome looking the CFC jumper is then look no further than Cameron Wood......

How bad was Waite?

I am coming to the belief that Brad Scott is a big scam artist. I think North will slide this year rather than the top 4 finish their supporters expect

Our designated ball carriers need to be excellent kicks.

And excellent decision makers. Judd may not be the greatest kick, but he's an excellent decision maker.

Improved midfield performances from Gibbs and Murphy would help. As would the inclusion of Simmo and Scotland and Thomas and Garlett and Docherty.

Getting games into young and inexperienced players will help as well.

As would having a monster kpf who can be our 'bail out' option.

Bondi has changed a lot since that photo was taken.
You're behind the times.

A lot of good footy people live in Bondi.
Diggers closed down 15 years ago.
That bank is no longer there at South Bondi.
New Life saving club at North Bondi.

A lot has changed since the season ende too...at Carlton.

Bell running off HFF and winning the ball in the guts as well as taking out one of the NM mids...did you see that?
That is one hell of a run and win for us, let alone Bell. You dont do that unless you have speed and belief in your ability.

Everitt plays for us now...Thomas is on our list.

Why dont you tell us all where I'm wrong and why...leave the pics to Cazzeman...I'm interested....you might be right.
I'm just saying Bell looked good, along with most who commented about the game...and explained why.

Bell had a pretty good finish to the season last year.
He (reportedly) has been starring on the track and in the intra club game.
He was BOG or 2nd BOG in our first serious hit out. Some of his stuff was fantastic. His clearance in the third quarter where he just burst through the pack and I think kicked a goal was exactly what we want in a mid.
I think the people who are accusing Bondi of having no idea think he is UNDERESTIMATING Bell's potential for 2014.
Of course it he doesn't win the Brownlow they'll be screaming, 'we told you he was a slow plodder'.

Hang on, Judd won the Brownlow and he's a slow plodder.
Deisel....
Watson, then...
Ablett?
I know, Black! Now he's seriously quick. Isn't he?
Vossy?
Buckley was pretty slippery, though.

It just goes to show that the best players have to be lightning quick to be good. Not.

Bell will never be any of those but he will play footy for us and he won't leave anything in the dressing room when he does.

Thanks BS for giving us some facts to consider.
I've spoken with a couple of Carlton people....premiership player and player...and they suggested that Bell types are what you need in the heat of the battle especially in the middle.

Big arse you can't get around....Diesel, Kouta...plenty of other great footballers.
Tough...can take punishment and keep going
Hard...can inflict pain that wears the opponent physically and mentally
Endurance....is still going when fatigue sets in for many...can kick a long goal in the last.

No one can say exactly what potential can become, but this kid shows signs of the type we have needed for a long long time, and one who can excel against the best...in the last 4 weeks of September.

That's all I'm saying and it's not just my belief. I look at he future with interest.
Saying the signs are not there suggests to be one is viewing Bell with blinkers.
Wouldn't be surprised in Lucifer is one of those in the stands who openly bags his own.

Lets hope Bell delivers. So far, he signs are good.
BOG is a good start...look out Port!

I'll check the team sheets Rod, but I don't recall these guys playing in this game.

And some might care to remember his role in getting us into a final last year. His long bomb goal against Port was crucial in our running them down - it was just one in a stream of goals but a great effort under the circumstances.
