Mick won't pick 206 as he knows matty k is by far our best ruck man and that means 206 has to play mainly fwd which is not an option

I don't see 206 getting much game time unless k loses form

I'm really pleased for Rowe. I'm sure watching him run out onto the 'G in front of 90,000 after the last 12 months will make his family's hearts soar

Hoping the bench is something like this:

Int: J.Laidler K.Lucas, D.Buckley sub:S.White

Emerg: Davies, N.Duigan, J.Bootsma

Zach is very lucky too imho Would have put him as sub after his performances so far(Preseason and Rnd 1)

Congratulations to Sammy Rowe. All the best for the debut. Great story. Great stuff!

Hope that Bucks gets a debut as well. Could be a handy sub to inject pace and goal kicking ability to compensate for the loss of Betts. Is generally a good kick for goal. Also think that Dylan is one who will thrive on the bigger stage and surrounded by better players...

Please let Laidler play.

Funny, but I never understood why people liked Thriftshop...

Wouldn't be shocked to see Buckley in to replace Betts, but I would like to see Duigan dropped for what was an unaccountable performance, culminating in his best footy being as a loose man. Bootsma made a big blue late, but actually played a steady game. Bring in Laidler to settle down the organisation in defence, and offer a little freedom to swing Hendo forward to allow Kreuze a rest on the bench instead of in the pocket.

White* and Duigan did nothing to impress me through the pre-season, so not sure why they're in the frame for selection at this point.

* - I know people think I hate him, I just think he's undersized and slow, I'm sure he's a great bloke

:thanks: Big Kev,

Bootsma : He is a raw young talent, but not ready for AFL yet. plenty time on his side.

Lucas: Terrific pre season form, bit of a worry when the pressure is on during the real season, just a slight delayed reaction of his disposal concerns me. His possessions last week 3 kicks & 16 handballs, for a outside/running player, don't add up to my liking.

Watson : Should have be picked for this game, big bodied defender, ideal match up for Lynch or the other log.

I think it says enough about the mitigating circumstances for Tuohy's performance if Duigan is universally considered to be out this week.

Henderson is the only defender that could say he had a good game, and that stems from not overcommitting himself in attack and watching the play unfold instead of reacting to movement in the immediate vicinity. I think Tuohy and Bootsma held up well under siege.

Just out of interest - how'd you rate Ty Vickery's game Jim? Just to make sure we were watching the same game.

Henderson was disappointing last week. I think it was the worst game I have seen from him.
I have to admit, not sure what game Jimmae was watching to be honest as well.

Yeah Henderson was smashed in the first half as Vickery helped set up the win for them.

Improved in the second half, let's hope he's blown the cobwebs out now.

Watto has played against the Filth twice for two howlers. Glad Mick didn't go for the 3-peat. Watto on Lynch would be very very scary.....and on the "Log" ??? :yikes:

I agree,

Henderson for me was our best defender.

Vickery did well but what he did wasn't because of what Henderson didnt imo.

We got smashed in the midfield and the floodgates opened. We were destroyed in the clearances.
Vickery had a bit of luck and a big hit on Robbo. 3 easy goals...as a link player because Hendo had to defend other players. He's a goer, dont you worry about that.

Hendos timing for the spoil was Leppitch like. Beautiful timing. Looked like more than a dozen perfect spoils in packs having accounted for Vickery behind him.

I love a defender who sees ball and the ball he knows he can get he goes for it. Brave stuff.
Vickery ended with none of those entries because Hendo stopped them himself.
One punch. That's defending.

Glad Vickery didn't kick a bag, coz the supply was vertainly there.

Still would prefer him as our CHF becuase he's got all the skills, with Waite as the lead up HF, and Tex as the other lead up marking linkman. Then Betts, and Garlett the feet of at Hampson/whoever can get it to ground or mark it. Then mix that bag up with Judd Gibbs Murph and Robbo rotating in there.

I've been a Duigan fan since day 1, and I've been off him for a few weeks.
I do love the way he tries and spoils at times, but he's no Laidler imo...and he's tough, but I just cant put a finger on it...I expect more ....speed?

I'd love to see Watson in.

Watson would be panced by Lynch.
Lynch is one huge fit KPF with good stamina.
Watson isnt.

Watson hasnt shown much in the NAB.
Saw him live and he was livley with his runs from HB to CHF...but nothing came from it.

I dont think Watson is ready....he needs something...cant put a finger on it...maybe speed? Mobility below the knees? Intensity and mobility?
Sounds like I'm describing a a log, but I dont mean that....he's too young and undeveloped...perhaps.
